You might get premature bearing wear or light vibration.... For the most part try an keep the angle at 3 or less. Should be okay but if it were me, I would spend the time to make it right.
Try to make your crank and pump shafts parallel to each other in a line with the angle either up or down in driveline. Hollow out the one side foot and put a spacer on the other to get it straight. Get at least .5 degrees in drive with the shafts parallel.
That should be fine. Basically all you are trying to do is allow the needle bearings to move and keep them lubricated like in a truck.
