The boat pictured only has 115hp, does that mean it will be gutless? I'm not trying to break any speed records and i've skied behind plenty of 100hp boats that seem to go alright.

Don't get me wrong, i would love a 21ft V8 jet, but i have to stick with what i can afford and what is practical. Like i mentioned earlier, all the rivers in my neck of the woods have either dried up or are on the way to being gone, so i need something that will handle bay waters too.

Are you sure about the 'no stupid questions', cause i've got an arsenal of them!

Attached is a pic of the type of boat i'm looking at. Can you give me any 'pros' or 'cons' for a boat like this?

Goad, thanks for that info, is the place diverter a standard feature or an add-on and do you know if this type of jet boat would throw out a lot of roost?

Hey guys,

I'm impressed! Firstly, i didn't think anyone would reply and secondly, there was no 'new guy' insults.

- Hotrod56cars, I'm glad you liked our humble little country.

Thanks for the info but i have a further probing question: I've been looking at a lot of jet boat vids on youtube, and noticed that some of them throw out an enormous roost. So would i be correct to assume that you can't ski behind that? Is the roost boat/engine related because I've seen some that roost and some that don't??

Sorry if I'm asking some stupid questions (i don't know anyone that owns one to ask) but I'm really keen to get one, and the missus won't let me unless she can ski behind it!

Cheers for the info so far.

Hi all,

I'm looking into buying a jetboat and just have a (most likely) stupid question to ask. In Oz, all of the rivers and lakes are drying up due to the water shortage, so i just wanted to know if jetboats handle the choppy bay waters? Also, is it true that you can't ski/wakeboard behind them because they throw off a different wake? I'm looking in the 5m range because i have nowhere to store it, something like a Regal Rush, Seadoo or Sugar Sand. Any info would be much appreciated because it's hard to come by.

cheers.
