Your better of lookin to an aluminum boat . If in case you hit some unseen object under water , the alloy boats can really take a beating . Yes you can ski and wake board behind just about anything . If your lookin for a particular wake , you can add some weight to the back of the boat to your desired preference . I've also seen them in the 13 foot range (I dont know what the means in metric) Eagle boats comes to mind . I know there are a few others .I would look in that direction especially in your neck of the woods . Good luck and keep us up to date.

Thanks for the info but i have a further probing question: I've been looking at a lot of jet boat vids on youtube, and noticed that some of them throw out an enormous roost. So would i be correct to assume that you can't ski behind that? Is the roost boat/engine related because I've seen some that roost and some that don't??

Sorry if I'm asking some stupid questions (i don't know anyone that owns one to ask) but I'm really keen to get one, and the missus won't let me unless she can ski behind it!

Don't get me wrong, i would love a 21ft V8 jet, but i have to stick with what i can afford and what is practical. Like i mentioned earlier, all the rivers in my neck of the woods have either dried up or are on the way to being gone, so i need something that will handle bay waters too.

My friend in Tucson has an Omega 21' open bow with a brand new built 402 BBC with a newly rebuilt Jacuzzi jet you could pick-up for $2500. Could use a little interior work and maybe some gel coat later on but the the motor and pump have less then 2 hrs on the both of 'em. It's not advertised it's just sittin' at his house collectin' dust. If anyone is interested let me know.

I took it out last year and its totally tight...not the fastest thing in the world...Maybe because of the Jacuzzi but mechanically it all brand new.

Sugar sand is the way to go if you are going with a sport jet but honestly you can pick up a nice v-8 jet fro way less than those are running. If you wanna go fast be loud and draw attention go v-8 old school. if you wanna cut n jump go sugar sand. it is all personal preference. The sugar sand uses almost zero gas and will run about 60 mph. It just aint loud and cool looking but you can put 6 peeps in it.  I loved my Sugar Sand but I am in love with my Eliminator.
