Can any body point me in the direction of a reliable shop here in san diego. Just bought a new challenger 460 ford big block and keep getting water in the oil. Need to figure this out! Any help is much appreciated
I had the same deal with my JF pump. Cable slid out too far and tore up the new boot. I know there’s supposed to be a white nylon ring around the cable Inside that disc but the cable does still slide. Just have to clamp the boot where it can move lock to lock freely. The boot is the main seal. And the nylon ring is the backup but will leak a bit if the boot is torn. On mine anyway. Haha. Hope that helps.Right on, well I think I got it squared away will see when I get it to the water.

Ya you need a second cable bellow/rubber boot to seal it $13 on cpperformanceIt’s there. I just finished resealing it.
It depends on ur set up , most jet guys don’t run them because the can adjust the temp with a gate valve . Some will use them to slow the water down to keep the water longer in the block , it’s a personal preference thing , my buddy’s 210s hallett has one because he runs injection and the system looks at the water temp and adjusts for it . But old school set ups u really don’t need them , just run with the gate valve .Right on, thank you.

Just so u know ... Wayne’s does all that .I called Wayne’s they don’t freshen up engines. I asked if they could just go though it and change the rings and bearings they said they only do compete rebuilds. I’m taking it to bostick racing engines.
