We tryed the 40 weight and only used 7 quarts, and the problem is still there. We can run up to 3500 rpms and have 60 pounds of oil pressure but when we jump on it and run it to 4000 to 4500 it will fluctuate down to 30 and 40 pounds. I am trying everything I can think of before I pull the moter

Its a dooley pan. The problem is when we have 10 quarts in the pan, at 1000 rpms it will run 60 psi and when we hit about 4000 rpms the oil pressure will drop to about 30 to 40 psi. so we removed 2 quarts of oil and tried it again and the problem was not so bad, but it is still doing it. I think the problem is the crank is aerating the oil because of not having the windage tray

I am looking for a BBC gen IV jet boat pan with a windage tray that will clear the crank for a 496. I have a 10 quart now with out a windage tray and I am having oil pressure problems. If anyone has somthing that will help I would appreciate it. Let me know

Hey Terry are you going out this weekend and if so where are you going? Ryan and I will try to hook up.
Last weekend was pretty busy on the north end of the lake but even with the big weekend there was not alot of boats. Echo has a very long NO WAKE ZONE but i didn't see the circus that you normally see on the big weekend, so we have BIG hopes for Sunday
