« on: March 23, 2011, 05:12:24 PM »
I started going through my 77 20.5 eliminator about two months ago.  I started by pulling the motor, painting the block and bell, new wires, cap, rotor, coil, distributor, all new gaskets, intake, exhaust tips and much more. I am currently having the interior and rubrail done.  Here are some pics of my progress.  I also just got some new swimsteps and polished brackets i need to install.  Ill get some more when more gets completed

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Bolting Engine Hoist
« on: February 23, 2011, 08:23:40 PM »
I got a lift plate and some grade 8 bolts .  Do you think this will be enough to do it safely?

Yea Chris Im pulling my motor tomorrow, got  picker and a stand today.  One of my bolts on the jet intake was rubbing on the oil pan, and it started to leak a little bit.  Wanna get it dialed before the season..

I had threaded plastic oil plug screws on my berkeley jet, and one was damaged.  Does anyone know if these plugs have to be plastic or can I just get some threaded stainless bolts to replace them.  Also is the thread NPT or?

there was a void between the hull and the wood from where the drain plug went it where some of the wood rotted.  The water would go in the void then under and come up through the engine is on the driver side.  I filled it would marine adhesive seal and it seemed to fixed it.  Ive had it out 15 plus times and never seen anything to bad.  Ill look under the driver side more carefully and see if i can find anything.  Any other history you can tell me?  thanks for the info
