1978 Tahiti jet project
« on: August 24, 2010, 02:18:52 PM »
1978 Tahiti jet boat. Gel coat is in great shape. Comes complete with panther jet drive, tanks, steering, gauges, gas pedal and single axle trailer. All the cables turn smoothly. I will sell with or without motor pictured. It has a complete 454 with Holley carb, HEI & logs. Motor turns smoothly and has good compression. Just needs some cleaning and new upholstry. Pink slips in hand for both. $1300 complete or $600 less motor. I had this identical boat a few years ago- it was a great river/ski boat.

It's like the boat ferry comes every night and when I wake up, there they are, sittin in the driveway.........

Wife keeps telling me I want to look for a cuddy cabin of some sort because I just might end up living in one.   ;D ;D

In all seriousness,   I have budies from all over the place that have told coworkers, family, neighbors, etc,  that have boats and are looking to dump them,  "I KNOW A GUY..."

My phone probably rings 5-6 times a day with calls from all over SoCal and AZ about some boat that is being given away.   I like putting these things up here as cheap as possible because I know the folks on these boards will bring them back to life and enjoy them.   truth be told,  I probably wont be messing with these anymore when the new mold is done.   Hopefully,  some of the folks that have restored these things and have nice hardware will be ready to sell the old hull and step into a badass new g-wing >:D

whats the status on the fuel tanks?  fiberglass or alum/stainless? does the motor run currently (i know you said it runs smoothly, just wondering if that was in some other boat or this one) or require anything other than interior and some few odds and ends?

Tanks are aluminum.   The motor is coming out today for my buddy.

Anybody have a mill laying around to throw in something?   $500 for complete boat with pump and mounts and D/L for a BBC.  The gel really is nice on this thing.  I'll get better pics.
