Hello want to start by saying I'm new here this is my first boat. Going to apologize in advance lack of knowledge and any dumb questions. I picked up a 16ft 1969 Kona with a 327 sbc and a berkley jet. Bought it from the orginal owner who purchased the hull and built the boat in 1969. Overall the boat is in good shape and i think its a great starting point. Pump is a berkley 12ja - b i think i read somewhere that pump isn't made anymore if thats the case are any parts interchangeable with newer pump models? ( if this is addressed somewhere here please point me in that direction) . Also what are some good resources to buy parts and have motor or pump work done if i need it.
Build plan as of this moment :
-New battery
-Rocker arms
-Steering cable ( super hard to turn currently)
-Throttle cable
-Rebuild the carb
-Possibly gas tanks ( the ones in there look like fiberglass but ive heard they could be aluminum tanks wrapped in fiberglass will check on that later)
-Polish the parts that should be Shiny
- Stereo system
Thats it for now maybe gel coat since its rough in some places, carpet and upholstery later down the road. Thanks everyone look forward to getting this thing running
