Never got around to changing out my cam. Its still sitting in the box. Ill get around to it sooner or later.
But i think all the bugs are worked out now. I have a slight porpoise at the top end that i need to iron out other wise i think the nightmare is over.
Took it out to Elsinore Sunday for a couple hours early. Boat ran very strong. Previously i had some fuel psi issues, but i bought an Aeromotive regulator to go with the new pump i bought, and everything seemed under control.
fuel pressure is stable at 6.5 pounds and the boat runs very clean. It did stall on me after hitting the rev limiter once and coming out of the water. I think it might have ingested some water from the scoop being backwards. My reverse bucket seems to throw a little bit of water over the transom.
but regardless with me, my GF, two full tanks, and a small ice chest I ran 69 on GPS at elsinore. Im pretty happy with that. I did the math and thats about 600 pounds of weight onboard.
Not bad at all for a little 5.3
Heres a picture my mom got of me doing a fly by in needles the weekend of the Avi, airs out pretty nicely.

And the gps screenshot from Elsinore Sunday
