1978 Biesemeyer 21 foot daycruiser

Hey guys.New to the forum.Been away from boating for a while but decided to get back into it.I have a line on a 78 biesemeyer daycruiser and dont know much about them.Ive owned Anthony,Southwind,Kona and a Tahiti.All jets.Not much info on the biesemeyer to be found.Any of you guys know anything about them?Im familiar with the drag and circle boats and know the name but cant find much on the daycruisers.Its got a 454 and 12jc pump with Place diverter.both in good shape.Hull is solid but some soft spots in the floor.Interior is all there but could use some tlc.Anything i need to be aware of or to look for before I buy it?Guy will take $1000 for it.Sound like a good deal?Thanks for any help or advice.

For that price you really can't go wrong.

Double check the stringers and transom wood. Replacing the floor is relatively simple compared to the stringers.

Thanks for the reply. Anybody with any info on these boats would be great. I've only seen a couple and that's kinda why I'm interested in it. I will post more pics when I pick it up this weekend

It's a splash.
Kona, Charger, Tahiti, Saguaro, and a few other made that boat.
It takes up an entire dumpster properly cut up.
Your results may vary.

So no good then?The paperwork says it was made by Biesemeyer in Phoenix Az. Would it make a decent family boat for cruising the lakes or should I pass?

I realize they just splashed someone else's design but anyone know if its a quality boat?This particular boat is very solid with only a little bit of floor rot but if the design is crap and is known to have issues in the water I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks again.

I don't know about that boat.....but if floor is rotten....could be a chance stringers are too, maybe transom...at least a portion of them. Difficult to Check stringers without lifting floor. If it limited to floor only....it's a much easier, cheaper fix.

That is a good family boat for sure. If that particular boat is good, only further inspection will tell. Depending on your ability and willingness to do repairs will determine if this boat is a good deal. For someone who isn't afraid to replace a floor or maybe even some stringers, and who's looking for a day cruiser, that boat could be a really good deal if motor and pump are in good shape as you say. I'd love to see more pic's with a little detail of motor and interior.

I have no problem putting in work to make it right. I've never replaced a floor or stringers before though so that should be interesting. Hopefully it's not super jacked up under there. I'll get some more pics when I pick it up. I'll also obviously check it out a little closer and see what's what.

Do any of you guys know what boat this is a copy if?I had a 21 ft Tahiti and also a 21 ft Kona. A 76 and a 78. They were totally different than this one. Similar to each other though. The bottom of the Biesemeyer is way different than any boat I've had. Looking from the back the boat is more round on the sides and much flatter on the bottom. The others had flat sides in the back and more of a "V"

all biesemyers are hand layed and not from a mold. All the other boats you mention are all copies of the biesemyer. They are great boats if everything's solid and not rotten.

Sweet. That's what I thought but wasn't sure. Got him down to $700 and heard it run and checked compression. Hopefully there's not too much rot under the carpet but either way it'll be a fun winter project.

i love them. There not common and you don't see them very often. Your getting a good deal. Rotten or not. There's 700$ easy in just parts alone.
