1978 Hawaiian Bubble
« on: August 26, 2019, 05:54:48 PM »
All right, here goes nuthin. Ive had this hull sittin in my yard for a few years now, i thinks its time to start mashing some resin and fiberglass around and filling it up with parts i've slowly collected. Question is i have yet to flip it over or crawl underneath to get any accurate measurements of how the pump is set. should i be doing that before i play with stringers? they are delaminated and i am leaning towards replacement since i don't have much else better to do with my time and i have most of the materials (minus wood). will also be trying my hand at capping a hull for the first time since its was started and abandoned on the hull to begin with. plan is to build a cart and trnsfer hull over while i attempt the cap job and spice up the trailer a bit. i have a  12jc converted to jg, overhaul in progress. had a  ford 460 in it, haven't decided what i want to replace it with

due to the heat and resin can make thing tricky to lay glass, i figured i would start with overhauling the pump. dissasembled, knocked out old seals and bearings. started prepping the bowl for paint.

Indeed. moving on to the inside, just a rough cut to start.

Haven't posted in a while, I’ve been distracted repairing a buddies hull. Floor was rotted and founds some cracks to address. Hope to get back to the Hawaiian soon
