see i never knew people swapped props so much. i thought you get the one that works well. i really want a nice cruising prop. im never going to be the fastest on the water so im not even going to try. i just want to do a respectable 30-40cruising and not blow all my gas getting there. im not so worried about towing or tubing, etc since we have 2 wakeboard boats to do that kinda stuff.
Yeah i agree.... I only run the 19 for local lakes. My tube is a Big ass 4 person tube that takes a lot to get moving with 4 grown (not exactly skin and bones) people on it so ill run the 19 with it just for the extra oomph.
I mainly run the 19 locally because this is where we tend to use the tube, as well as its a cheapie prop that i dont care if i hit on something in perris or elsinore where i cant see anything.
And we all know that the local lakes dont seem to have the best class of people, so i dont care if my cheapie 19pitch stainless prop gets ripped off. Id be pissed if my new 21 did though
I will say that at the river the 21 stays on 99.99% of the time, ive only changed it once when i spun my old 21. For me the 21 will pull a skier, wakeboarder, single tube and truth be told the 4 person tube just fine (havent tried it). And I can make it from needles to havasu springs on one tank of fuel.
If i remember correctly crusing speed with the 21 is right at the 30-40 mph range. The 23 was a little faster and saved a little fuel but to me it was negligible, and i like having the ability to spin it pretty high when/if i want to go fast. Not very often but has been known to happen.
I think that a 23 on your drive will be pretty close to a 21 on mine because of the gear ratio change. I think it should be pretty much perfect for you. You have more torque than i do but i think im making more top end hp so thats why i can swing it to the higher r's
