Just thought I'd show off a small custom upgrade to my engine that didn't cost much.

Scored  some cheap braided teflon hose, on Craigslist, that fit in place of my water hose.

Then I took some thin aluminum tubing and fabed up some clamp covers.

Looks good... too bad the distributor is at the wrong end  ;D

Get that thing together and come out to Lake Mead in March.  You got plenty of time.

I'll probably have a foot of snow to shovel off the cover in March.

All the more reason to tow it out here when it will be 80 degrees!

Sweet float. I run a 79 20.5 Spectra with a bare bones 454. The twin turbo motor is going together right now for next summer. With the testing ive done on my boat ive got it just shy of 60 mph.
I lost the jc bowl and went with a dominator split with a droop and diverter. I tried a straight snoot with several different wedges but it rode better and was faster with the droop. I also put my own ride plate design on and gained about 6 mph. If you have any questions about your Spectra let me know. Matt

Heres a pic of the Spectra roostin on the back side of the sandbar in Havasu.

Matt, That looks sweet!

If you really got 6 mph out of that plate, I'd like to see some close up pics.

I think I'm going to put in full length engine stringers, and run some outer stringers to hold up a floor that will run just about where the dash is.

I'm afraid the weight I am adding will slow the boat down, so anything I can do without blowers or turbos will be welcomed ideas.

  Thanks, Len
