Well after Parker decided to get to thrashing de rigged the boat and now it's full steam ahead. Pulled the motor plugged the stringers and finished my rail kit but have a few tweaks I need to do before done here's some pics
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
Now that the motor is out decided to sand the stringers And fix a couple of parts on the bulk head and re glass the broken parts and glass up the plugs
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
So after the grinding and sanding the bulk head and stringers I re coated them with resin to seal em up
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
So after all the headache started to build my rail kit Znd re rig the boat and was able to lower the motor almost 3 inched down from the old location 👍

Got lucky and borrowed uncle jim Brock's jig to make quick work of setting the tail kit I built. Made my kit with rats instead of a plate and after we weighed the boat I've shaved 80 lbs so far 😜
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
So I decided to shave more weight and end result is just short of 100 lbs now snd still a bit more to go here the base pics of the front plates I made and used a router to mill out a few parts and clearance the fuel pp and to fit a 90 on it without rotating the fuel pump
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
Now that the kit is done and the stringers were plugged and glassed over I decided to gel the stringers and bulkhead myself with a few china freight gravity fed guns and it came out pretty cool
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
Had to prep the bildge next and what a pain but came out ok for the first time
Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app
-
So after the buildge was done had a tad to much clear and uv protectant do I had to re sand it and prep for a second time and finally got the results I wanted

And to be continued

Awesome Man! Thats looking great!!
Just curious what gel you used to shoot that, Is it a single stage deal with the clear and UV stuff? Also did you just put down straight resin on the bulkhead and stringers?
Im wondering because im about at the same point on my Bahner and I was thinking about putting down a coat of resin and on the floors and stringers then doing a similar gel or paint after...
Keep up the good work!!!

I got the stuff from rev Chem in sanfernado. Got hooked up for a steal of a price thru a good friend. The gel has a clear base in it and I also added a uv and extra clear called cover all. You spray it on when the gel gets tacky and it helps with orange peel snd gives it an extra shine to boot

Here's a pick of all the stuff I will put up a pick if the bottle of cover all

nice work man.

Looks Awesome, Justin! Good job.
If you lowered the engine 3", what did the driveline look like before? Must have had a hell of an angle.

It was fine Hal but when jim and I reset the intake some angles changed so I have just 1/12 degrees of pin angle so no more rattle of driveline at idle and I'm not gonna say what the intake is set at 😜. Lol it basically went from a 2 degree up angle to nice and straight. Just wis I had extra coin for a jetaway but I hires in the future I will just drill four new holes and weld up the old ones of I don't end getting another boat in the future

Damn Justin, that's getting after it! Looking good man. Any motor upgrades while you're at it?

Copied Ralph brunts design but made my mounting plate accept either my bj pump or the Bennet pump and since the new addition to the fam I'm gonna be lazy and leave the Bennet pump on for now

Yeah could be the angle of the pic bolted everthing up during mock up and clearanced it all
Sent from my dirty buthole

On my boat it's cut around my flywheel you must have more room bbc or BBf
Sent from my iPad using SoCal Jet Boats
-
You cutt that all your self I need to make a new rear plate and front plate someone cut off the mounting hole where my alternator would have gone
Sent from my iPad using SoCal Jet Boats
-
Yeah used a vertical bandsaw and a router to clean the edges up. Use your old plate as a template and it will be easier to mark your holes too

Nice job, Justin!
I need your polishing skills. I suck at pollishing!
I really like the pillow blocks! Why do they call them "pillow blocks", anyways?

In SoCal we call them feet Hal 😜 but you can elaborate if you would like to :)

I guess feet work too!
I have always heard them called pillow blocks. I don't know why, i was asking you? They don't look like any pillow, I've ever seen.
Any ways, nice feet!

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats

So why not a full set back Justin??
-
So why not a full set back Justin??
i can but really no need to on this hull. If I were to do anything might just set it back 3 inches. I plan on getting in a winger or tunnel or a runner bottom in a few years so I'd rather blow
my wad on that and just machine the intakes I have laying around.
Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats

I was gonna go with a low pro I have but after talking to stark and few other people at Ming I don't have the heart to grind that much material out of the boat or buy a dry sump system
