This old Liberty has seen better days. I have put it through the ringer for the past 2 years and its time to give it some love.

I had already pulled out the motor a few weeks ago because it was getting below freezing at night and didnt want to risk cracking the block. So today I pulled the rest of it out. Other then the intake and the gas fills, all hardware has been removed. I will wrestle with the intake later this week.

....and on a side note, i found something today that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. My loader was not only cracked, but broken. Call it luck, but if this thing came apart, it would have been disastrous.

did i give you that loader i had laying around? it is the same loader that is damaged in your picture...if i didnt you got one sitting over here

X2 Brad boat look really good the way it was details...

its getting fitted for a shoe/rideplate and a ton of fiberglass work including new bulkhead and gunnel supports. I am going to remove the parkay (sp?) flooring and evaluate from there.

...and then the boat is getting re-rigged completely for center steer with a whole new rail kit...and maybe cav plates if i can swing it.

Who is going to do all the work? You or HB?

I am most likely going to R&D to have the shoe/rideplate/intake done.

As far as all of the other glass work, im going to have to wait until i cut out the parkay (sp?) floor to see what I am getting into, hence when i said "...evaluate from there."  it could be easy, or i might have to rip the stringers out completely and start from scratch. if the latter, i will be taking it to someone who knows what they are doing. 

..and i will be doing all the rigging.

So does this mean your not going to make it to the havasu race? Matt

Is/was the back of the loader sitting on the floor of the intake? It's hard to tell from the picture but it doesn't look like it.   If its not at least touching or better yet have a little preload they'll crack, just like that, from harmonics.  Sometimes it's necessary to add a little material to the bottom of the loader to accomplish this.

no, no updates. it hasnt been touched since i tore it down.

when you bring the boat down to the shop i can have miguel take a look at it and give you an estimate on the stringers and the parkay, he is very good and reasonable

thanks, but at this time, this project is on hold until further notice. just some other things i need to take care of at this time.

i will let you guys know when im ready to roll forward on getting the intake reset.
