Are you the corner house? I always see a boat garage kept there. It's an open now though not sure if that's you. I'm behind mt. High last house in the dead end

Welcome Sidewinder, I'm new here too. I just picked up a 1979 Cougar last year, and have had to redo all of the wiring scratch. Most of it isn't much different than plain old car wiring, but I have been using marine grade wire, connections, and heat shrink tubing. I actually used wiring diagrams for the engine bay of a 1978 Ford truck to help me figure out how to wire my engine(460 Ford), if that helps at all.

Thanks Shadow, I just took out my seats and cutting out the flooring to replace what's broken since the interior is out I figure I might as well redo the wiring. I have roughly the same gauge wire at work which my boss gave me free range to do with what I needed. With a couple local friends and another SoCal member my float will be transformed and ready to go by season start. Well summer start at least.

Nice! I am about three weeks away from having mine ready for the water, but getting there. I am waaaay to anal about having everything done to my satisfaction before running her. Lol.

I acquired the boat for free with the trailer, it has current tags till 2017. I just want to make sure it's legit before river runs. So I'll do some shakedown runs at Elsinore just to make sure everything is good on it. Putting in new flooring and wiring while my interior is out. But by doing all this I'm learning so much about the boat. I'm always willing to get my hands dirty. Where about are you located?

I am in the same "boat" as you. This is my first jet, and I got the boat for a song, and had to tear it almost completely apart. It's definitely a learning experience, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Lol. I'm out in Saskatchewan.
