I REALLY like the Liberator Hulls! (I know, a Daytona splash, but done with Taste and very, VERY different!) Close friend of mine has an outstanding one, and I passed another one up awhile back I'm still kicking myself in the ass for.......Lemme drool for a bit........

What motor/pumps goin' in it? You keeping the original engine hatch?

Don't mind me, just slobbering all over myself.............

Hi IRRebel,  We will post pics as we build with Dave at Liberator....There is no original engine hatch and we are having a custom one built after motor is set...  We are putting a GM in it with 195 HP  ;)  Lol!  Hang in there and try to follow us along as soon as we get new pics we'll post.

Just make sure you do lots of research... We researched for a long time before we decided to go with Liberator.  They have been great if you're considering a new one,...Good luck..

They are. Looks like someone decided it needed to have some OSB floorboards for some reason.

My Bud, (A lot of you know him, he goes by "Cave" over on the "Other" site"), Anyway. Jimmies boat easily and routinely hits 90+ MPH. I'm not convinced he's ever tuned it to run balls out either though. Seems to cruise right along at that speed!

Granted, he's running a 6-71 huffed 468 BBC under there, but still.......... A VERY pretty boat!

Propless.

if you look real close you can make out the drivers stringer. it looks kinda "yellow" compared to the color of the balsa floors.

Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer.
Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!

Nope, I dont see a stringer there.  There is the vertical inside wall of the tunnel, then a wood trim piece (not a stringer) then the balsa. Look at the back seat, there is no notch for a stringer and its sitting flat on top of the tunnel.

LIBERATOR681, I was just curiouse because my Daytona hull has really small stringers (1 1/2" high x 3/4").  I was told the hull design gets its strength from the vertical walls of the tunnels and the stringers are basically there just to mount things.

There are ----I believe 50" or 60" stringers.. After 33 years in the business Dave @ Liberator Boats doesn't cheat on anything . And the tunnels are built as part of the entire support system. These are not 4 and 5 hundred pound race boats or v - bottom boats . Dave @ Liberator in Texas the owner and builder, builds boats to last .

Thank you for the info, thats what I needed to know.  I hope you dont think I was questioning the strength or integrity of your boat.  Thats not why I was asking.  I just wanted to confirm what I was told about the hull design having so much strength that the stringers where really only needed for mounting stuff.  Mine needs new stringers (swiss cheese and a few spots of delam), and I was trying to decide if it should get the same small stringers or move up to larger / thicker ones.  Obviously I was told the right thing, the design is strong enough that big, strong, heavy, stringers are not needed.

Thanks for the info.  Now get to work and start putting that thing together, lets see some progress.  ;D
