I have to reply only because (if you had this idea a couple years ago) we had an electric motor for you, lol.
Most electric motors run at 1725 or 3450rpm, ranging from 120v to 575v, 1 or 3phase and hp from 1hp(and smaller) to 40 (or special motors bigger)
In the back of the shop here at Acklands we had a returned electric motor that would not work for the customer(large logging company) and they ate the cost.
The point being is the motor was an aluminum housing (220 lbs) 120 hp 460volt 3phase motor... with a few batteries (16?) and a rework on the phase, maybe a voltage inverter and some brainstorming you might have got it to push you at about 20mph, or more, lol... guess bow thrusters would have been a good idea too, help steer

as far as cost to this motor, I think if memory serves me correct over 3g's(about 15years ago), such a waste, would have been a good motor for your project.
Since big corperate wanted the place cleaned up, out went the motor (plus lots of other cool stuff) to the dump

Wish we still had it, ship it to you just for shits and giggles to see what you could make with it
