Max drive shaft bend?

What are you doing? As long as the driveline angles cancel each other out you can get pretty extreme. But bending the hp has other problems.

Installing motor, not a set back pump V-hull with hamburger pan almost touching pump intake bolts little close for comfort.

There are other ways. Those angles look off to me.

Have a shot of the pan/bolt interference?

The front of the motor looks low. The crankshaft should be perfectly parallel to the pump shaft. This could be why the drive line angles look so extreme.

Got the front of the motor up a bit but the drive shaft is no where near level

Is that a jet boat pan? It appears that the pan has a rear drop down at the sump? Most jet boat pans are flat in the bottom, I bet if you got a oil pan for a jet boat that it will fit a lot better. If you can get the rear 2-3" lower it will make that driveline happy.

It's the hamburger pan, I had poked around to see if people were running these in bubble deck hulls. The vote swung toward this pan. Worst case scenario I'll have to pull it depending on if I can find a longer drive shaft.

A drive shaft shop should be able to fab a new center section of your DL for about $120. Two yoke ends and a section of pipe.

Just because I was questioned about my logic (you know who you are) ;-)

By extending the drive line, two things are accomplished.

The first is that the longer drive line assembly will allow less aggressive shaft angles.

Second, it moves the engine forward and away from the pump intake (which is angled) and the pump shaft is at a 3° upward angle away from the transom, so theoretically, the farther forward you go, the lower the engine becomes compared to the pump shaft, even if the engine stays the same height.

Not sure who's doing the reaching and around what though.
