My Crusader Project
« on: November 22, 2014, 05:57:08 PM »
So last year I had numerous electrical problems. So this year I said f*** it. I ripped ever wire and hose out of the boat. Last week was the start.
Today I filled old holes, sanded, sanded, and sanded some more, then painted the bilge with Bilgekote. 2 coats so far. I will be installing the carpet and 1 more coat tomorrow. Here's the pics so far.

It's cracked where the false floor meets the hull. I've already repaired it.

Rails are in. Side panels are in with new billet washers and the battery tray is almost done.

That things looking very clean, nice work.  You said you had a  bunch of electrical problems.  Was it caused by a bad wire loom?   If you need a loom I have a complete loom with zero splices I yanked out of a day cruiser if you could use it.  I'd hate to just trash it.

It was caused by bad terminals, corroded wires, shitty everything. Now everything will be water tight plugs, soldered and shrink tubed terminals.

Thanks for the offer on the wire loom. But I want to do it all new. I'm also not wiring my boat the way 99% of jet boats are wired. No more bus fuses.

Thank you. Im really trying to stay clean. I don't want to see wires and bulky billet battery trays like everyone uses. Light, compact, and clean.

Nice boat. It's got to be a hand full at speed or in rough water.

Just my two cents but you should plate the outside of your stringers.  It will be nature your washers don't collapse.

True, but, a normal application like that will be just fine.

I only offer that because I had my battery do it from all the bouncing Round.  Just backed it up with a plate today.

Thanks for the comments guys. These washers are huge and I think they will hold up. If not I can always plate the outside.
