Picked up a old tahiti project a few weeks ago but as usual dumbfound noob I am puzzled and have a few questions . The water plumbing I have kept reading and reading about ball valves and relief valves. It's a 78 tahiti with a 460 and a panther jet . I've fired it ip for only a few seconds after fiddling with the carb but I want to hook it up from my garden hose and see if everything is fine .
The plumbing goes from the jet to a T to the front of the block plate from the thermostat housing to the two exhaust manifolds but they are Eddie marine thunder emt I can't seem to find much info on them , also does anyone know if that is correct and what other preventative maintenance or things I can look through it has not seen water since 08/09

Eddie Marine is in my neighborhood and their exhaust systems are some of the best.
Because it has ports that go from the manifold to the riser and then over board, it's the only way.
I am uncertain if these have jackets in the manifold but where would the hot water escape is my concern they connect to the bottom of the manifold after exiting the thermostat housing and then where does the water go ?

All marine "manifold" type exhaust is water jacketed.
The older style had the water run (preheated) through the logs first.
Note that there is no ports to go from the logs to the snails.
Then through the motor, out the thermostat housing, and into the snails to be dumped overboard.
I love me some EMI exhaust.
Let me know if you ever want to get rid of it.
