I bought a 73 Eliminator Sprint, like Propless' boat.   When I purchased the boat it was candy red and had a airbrushed mural on the bow which had to go.  I'm finally getting some time to start working on the boat and I was wondering if anyone remembers the boat from before the candy red paint and tacky bow art was added.  The boat was originally bright blue flake and white, but was painted Yellow with a dark blue strip coming from the bow and running down to the sides at an angle just aft of the bow.  I bought the boat from the Sacramento area and it had Sac Town Airbrush on the mural.   Thanks in advance.

 Your right Just Electric, Its the same hull as mine (the old semi V), the actual Sprints came later (a combo of stretched Eliminator bubble deck bottom (southwind) and a Beismeyer deck).  But for some reason lots of people still call these old hulls Sprints  .

 SnoC653, Nice to see your working on it finally. I saw over on the other site (that V-drive place  ) that you where working on that fugly old flatbottom  .   I knew you wouldnt be able to work on that barge with the beautiful lines of this hull distracting you  .

The third boat in the picture is titled as a Sleekcraft but has a Mantra HIN.  Someone did a very bad deck repair on it and I'll have to replace the bow deck.  After I got the Eliminator, it was downgraded to be just a river play boat so it is last on the list.  Greg Shoemaker, over on Performance boats said the Eliminator is a simi-V and that as such, is not well suited to being a pump boat.  I'm still going to prep the Eliminator as I decide if it should be converted to what he said it was designed for (v-drive) or follow my original plan and see if I can make it handle the way it should.  He said it has "a lot of rocker".   I know when you can see the spoon in the keel from the top saying it has rocker is an understatement.  And the yellow and blue is just the first layer of paint.  It has gel coat under it.  I'm pretty sure the Gel coat has the more traditional points coming off the bubble and stopping just short of the bow.   I was going to leave the yellow and use it as a base coat to paint over, but I've been advised it's best to take it down to the gel and start from there.  So more sanding to come.

 Yea, rocker is a big understatement !!!  A better term would be bubble bottom.    Just wait till you put a straight edge on it.
