Well after some sound advice from Jim I continued my bilge/ass end project this weekend.
I started with Goof Off to get the adhesive from the carpet off so it would not load up the sander as often. I highly recommend Goof Off for adhesive removal. Works Great.

Here is the stringer holes dowled and epoxied. I used oak dowels and Sig Epoxy from the hobby store.
One Tip Jim shared is do not be afraid to drill big holes in the stringers. A few of my holes were oblong shaped and I ended up drilling out the first 1/2 dowels and wend to 3/4 and a much better fit.



Here is the first round of sanding done. I used 36 grit paper. I sanded a ditch where the dowels are so I could build them up with mat and glass.



Here is another view of the sanding process. I sanded until I hit porous mat so the resin would adhere better also as per Jims instructions



Here is the 1st layer of resin on the port side of the boat. I was gonna start in the bilge but a little water keeps seeping out from the front of the boat so I started there. There is also 2 layers of glass on the dowel areas on the stringer now. I am doing 1 small area at a time so if something does not turn out right I don't have a big area to repair. One tip Jim gave me is to set the resin up for a fairly slow cure. So I cleaned the area with Goo Gone and acetone several times and gave it a shot. It is curing as we speak and I will keep ypu posted. So far I have about 20 hours labor and $100 spent on materials and some tools. Not a bad start considering I wan qouted between $700 and $840 around town.

you will find (much as i did) that most of the work on these boats seem like a "huge" progect, but in reality, if you have any kind of common knowledge, time and know-how, its not that bad and you will save a ton of money. Especially with support from sites like this which help you steer in the right direction as you work. The Wriedt Project was the soul basis for the beginning of this site and I hope for it to motivate people, like you, to not be afraid to get dirty and get creative instead of taking their boat to a shop and doing the same ol' stuff all other boats out there are doing.

blue, looks nice good work and that axle that we talked about last week is straight sorry. what percent of mix did you use and how many layers of glass. use a floor jack about a third of the way from front of trailer and chock tires jack max be careful and water will flow to back. i did it and put in relief holes so all water drained let sit 1to2 days so it all runs out lock door so nobody goes near trailer and boat it will be very unstable use jack stands for safety. this is how i did my tahiti it drained for 2 days water before stopping
