Hah! We're at the lake and he's running the piss out of this boat. So much so that he ran himself out of fuel at the other end of the reseviour!!!

He's getting definatley getting the hang of it and we continue to try different settings.

We have some onboard camera footage from his little helmet camera setup and we'll try to post that up when we get home. Thanks again Tommy and JetBoatPerformance. He's gotten nuthin but compliments (we have 144 boats here) and one guy wanting to buy it. What a great time.

Here's some footage of a pass past me. The water looks smooth but it has some rollers that drove everyone crazy.

This was with the diverter up and you can see the bouncing till he leans on it and then it starts to carry the nose. Maybe a bit more power needed??? Obviously he could lose most of it by lowering the diverter or touching the plates but nevertheless, we're getting there..

Thanks guys. Yep, we're getting close. Fighting fuel pressure issues though. I hate to mess up those beautiful plates but I may need to clearance it so we can run a mechanical pump. Measuring the Carter 170gph I have, we all we need is a slight slot to accomadate the wide flange and it would fit. Get rid of that electric "is it gonna work or not" worry.

What is an "electric worry"...I have a Holley Blue and a regulator on mine and I absolutely love it...

It is hooked to a three pole oil pressure switch and if the engine dies, so does the pump...

I have been running these for several years without issue...

If you are worried about leaning her out, your pump is too little or turned down to far...7 lbs. at the seat..hands down...

Just curious, not busting your balls, boat looks badass BTW

Bust away Glenn. I'm still learning all this stuff. We're running a Holley :HP150 billet pump and a Holley regulator. Other than a short section of 3/8" rubber from each tank to a tee, its all -8AN to the pump, regulator and to the carb.
The reason I'm getting concerned is that it worked perfect leading up to the weekend and all day Friday. From that point on it has great pressure (8 or so (it drifts a touch)) until he leans on it. From the is lays down to less tha 2 pounds and the boat won't get up on plane, Makes for a looong idle across that reservior.
With some time we'll swap out the last of the rubber lines as well but we just ran out of time. Besides, it was working fine up to Friday. Thanks for the help Glenn. Take care

It sounds like hose collapse to me, which it would still do with a mechanical (I'm sure you knew that). I use braided hose for the suction side on High output deals because of this...Could the regulator be stuck..

That reminds me of a funny story (Small thread jack) My buddy build a 400M for his '68 Mustang Pro Street with an 871 BDS and two fours...cool car...anyway, he calls me up because the car wont start and it is absolutely kiking his ass, so I get there and there is not even the smell of gas in the carbs...I was like "dude, you're out of gas!" he swears he just put 15 gallons of high test in it... So after some checking, the celophane wrapper was still over the in hole on the "Brand New" fuel pressure regulator...

Yup, the exact reason I wanna swap out the rubber lines but we ran out of home stock AN fittings so we had to go with what we had. I hadn't even considered the regulator but that would be a easy swap as we have a couple spares here in my box of goodies.

I think we'll try to rob the Brendella of the lines from my tanks to the tee and see if that cures it. That will give it full -8 througout the entire fuel system and make it comparable to mine (cept fo the regulators). That should eliminate the uncertainty there....

Get yourself a compound gauge before the pump and check the negative pressure while running...

Here is some of my on board footage taken with my GoPro wide angle HD camera mounted to the dash of the boat. There are a few passes on the video that show how little the porpoise is when im goin flat out, with the diverter down some i have little to none at all.

Whoops, we never update this. We on a whim swapped a Carter Mechanical that I had in the shop and took it out and it worked perfectly. Only thing we did was space that one front plate on that side out about an inch. The pillow blocks lined up perfectly with an existing hole and we were good to go. No electric pump, no regulator, just a good old KISS system and it worked flawlessly. Now we need to find a dbl pumper Holley for this thing and he should be golden.

One thing that I gotta admit, this boat is so much cooler than mine. The lines are killer, it's got some much more room and I love how it rides in the water. Our boat you get wet and the motor gets douched all the time.
This Sanger you and the motor stay dry. I really like that.

Hmmmm, wonder what my motor would be like in the Sanger....

I can see this boat with a badass high compression BBC and a single Dom or a 500+" blower motor in it's future.

Too cool of a boat to just let it go. What about a 427" with mechanical FI? Now how sick would that be? Ian has more talent that I could hope and dream of ever having...all he needs is some money......Jan, where's the check book!
