Shrimpin Boat

Well, It's arrived! More there than I thought! Front WAS converted to open bow, (Nordie, yoiu were right!) but for the most part, best $3k I ever spent considering all the stuff with it. Boats been parked since 91. Owner did the open bow conversion, was reinforcing the transom for conversion to triple O/B engines...

But, in this mess inside the boat are all the engine internals, 2 complete JG drives (rebuilt in '90 according to receipts), 2new Mallory Comp 9000 unilites, coils and 6AL's, 2 new Eddie performer intakes (Prolly won't use), and 2 new Holley 950 DP marine carbs.

Bow rail is there, window trim, drivers seat for template. Moon roofs, engine cover.....Is strange it has 2 separate intakes on the pumps though. Might be a blessing!

Surprised me! I expected one of those alien dealios! But ever see a Port and Starboard (Or right and left, you choose) Intakes before?

was this thing ever running as a dual motor/dual pump setup? or is this someones backyard project they never finished?

Wow those intakes will take custom port & starboard (left & right) loaders and I guess ride plates are a no go. Shoes could work. Try a "ride" plate at the keel with long rods & turnbuckels to the transom. It's gona be hard to air this tank out with the keel so far below the intakes, maybe a huge delta bottom with fins. Have fun!

Good question! I asked too. Got the original invoice with it. Was, according to the original owner I talked to last week, the only one made this way. He ordered it. (Who knows about that tho). But yes, it was a running twin jet boat from its birth in '82 to 1990 when the second engine went. He sold it to the guy I got it from a couple years ago. was stored outside, under cover, but destroyed the interior.

According to the original owner, bear in mind he's like 90 something, one engine dropped a valve so he decided to make an open bow out of it back in 91-92 while it was down, and convert it to take 3 outboards.....Why, I'm still unclear on. Was kinda like talking to a 3 year old, no offense.

Once I get all the stuff out of it, the 4 1/4 stringers should be apparent and the original intake locations. I have another concern on the transom. But I'll wait till I get it unloaded to ask. Looks like something was cut out possibly.

Set up for hydraulic trim tabs! Pump is still in there!

your gonna need some loooooonnnnngggg trim tabs haha! cool find ray i dig it! i like different things! think it needs another intake in the middle with staggered engines!!!! ok ok not really, but would be cool! i cant believe them heads are sitting on the swim step not cool! are you gonna run the swim step again ray? also i think the bow reail should be sold to someone that needs it, boats always look better without bow rails in my opinion!

cant wait to see this one make some headwind...

i thinks its time to start selling off some of these boats, because this one is going to take up alot of your time, and you'll probably enjoy it over all boat on big lakes!

Yeah, bow rails prolly not gonna go back on. Rear rail on the engine cover, probably. I always liked the look of Brads old Southwind without them. (Ever gonna get that running again?

It is gonna stay with the Mid Cabin tho, front cabin gone due to the open bow

That part I am sold on. Swim steps going to be refinished an goin back on. Unloading the heads as soon as RJ gets home, as well as the cranks, rods, pistons, etc, etc.....

Forgot about the Center risers! They're coming in too. Not as big a project as I really imagined! Paints in REALLY good shape! Good buff and wax, GTG!

Floors, interior, should be easy for my bud who's staying here right now....

Yeah, three would be better!

hmmmmm.............Got a couple intakes layin around and a JG I got from someone........

Also, two new Crane Commander 288 cams came with it. Haven't gotton to the bottom of the boat yet..........

looks like the tailer is going to need some love! i might add! looks like a good start though ray....upholstery is fairly easy though you get to make it yours! your gonna love the bill your going to half to flip when you buy all them gauges haha

Already Got 'em.

Bought a year or so ago and then bought more for the Hallett from someone else. Just happen to match! GTG on the guages!

Need more for the Pickle now, however, where some WERE going. (Remember my broken Tach!).

Not gonna be cheap no matter what I do, BUT, I think worth it in the end. This is just one of those things, like your hydro, that are so unique you just HAVE TO DO IT!

Trailers actually good! Brand new tires I bought, pulled a wheel and a bearing buddy, grease is good, even the surge brake fluid looks clean! Not the prettiest thing, but not gonna float the trailer, lol.

Yeah, both. One handle controls throttle AND bucket. Took me awhile to figure them out too. Kinda like Brandon's dealio in his, though his don't work. There's two of 'em there that control both apparently, then you can pull out on the bases of them and run the throttle indepentantly from the F/R.

REALLY weird dealio is the steering helm. Gonna challenge Tom on this one, twin racks and pinions! I already KNOW it's not gonna take the Teleflex cables, same pattern Pickle had. The cables i got MAY be ok, but want new anyway. Gotta go take a pic of that!
