Getting back to the steering issue then... Question... Using two racks and cables with twice the resistance in them will it make it harder to steer?
Not sure just asking. I assume separate reverse cables and handles this could made dockside work nifty (one forward one rev.= boat pivots) just like the yachts.

Cj21 (previously cj410 on the rocks) is set up this way.....except 1 cable is reversed. i will see if i can dig up a picture of it......but anyways, it actually steered better then a single rack system.

yeah i dont see it being an issue especially since there isnt alot of surface area to really resist the steering...besides i just put a new helm rack and cable in my boat, and now it steers really easily, and to me that is more uncomfortable! i kinda liked the more stiff steering! even though i know it wasnt right...im sure it will be ok! wizard as far as the whole throttle slash fwd reverse i tend to agree with you! i believe they make a hot foot pedal that can control the throttle's while you and control the fwd rvs by hand...4 cables going into one unit tends to make me a lil nervous...it would be different if it was a stern drive where reverse actually works, and there is a true neutral just my opinion

Twin steering can't be any worse than my Pickle was! With the new steering, WHOA! a lil too easy. Doesn't have the little set screw know on it to increase the tension either. We're going dual cables, short and simple.

The F/R levers are dual, but can be operated with one hand. They also control both throttles at the same time. Cool how they work, but going to take some getting used to. Neutrel is idle, FWD open the buckets, and runs the throttle from there. Same with REV, but closes the buckets first. Getting the cables adjusted to the click stops will be fun, seeing how it has to happen on the water, as it's the only way to find true neutral on any jet setup.

Then there's the switches for the hydraulic trim tabs and diverters...... >:D

Ride requests will abound, I'm sure......... Tearing into finishing the transom tonight and tomorrow, Hopefully have the floor stringers and floors in by next weekend. Dunno if I should just start another thread on this or not! We've kinda convoluted this one, lol. (Brad?)

Well, could be! I dunno. As a kid I remember Unc's Sidewinder able to pin our lil heads against the swim rails in the back jump seats!

We'll see where the speed comes in on this, for now, yes, it will have MONSTER roost, it HAS too! Kinda like a fluffer that doesn't put out, makes no sense. It's not gonna have much else goin for it!

I'll start postin pics of it's progress tomorow. I been working on the logistics of getting what MAJOR Mechanical compenents where they need to be right now, and underway! THIS WILL FLOAT THIS YEAR! I made the commitment to Father's day, and I stand behind that right now!

Dug through all the stuff sorting out what's going to A&D, what I got to deal with, clean up around Moo so I can get her out! Barricaded the poor thing!

One nice surprise! 16 of 'em.....With the cams and intakes, Somone was planning a lil more HP thatn I was!  ;D

Kinda cool, the Bennett hydraulic trim tabs. Look more like cookie sheets to me.

The Pumps appear to me to have already been done! I ain't no expert, PO said his uncle had them done, but couldn't swear by that.
