Hi guys first off let me say I am new to the form and new to boats. I just got this project boat for a killer deal I know it not a jet :(. The floor was rotten and when I cut it out I found that the stringer was rotten. The plain is to cut out the floor and old stringer and glass a new one. Any advice what to use to cut out the old stringer and save it to use as a templet for the new stringer.

thanks

I am no boat builder but, everything I i have read  for my boat is you must use epoxy resin and glass it in. Poly resin is not a permanent repair. The strength comes from the glass not the adhesive. Poly to lay up the hull, epoxy for add on or repair, anything after the hull comes out of the mold. This is only what I have read.

My plain was to Loctite Pl glue down the stringer to the hull with a ¼” gap between the hull and the stringer then use peanut butter the make a fillet. Then glass over the stringer with 2 layers of 1708 and epoxy resin.

hear is the link for the PL glue

Thanks for all the input I really appreciate it
