Just came back from the New Orleans trip last night ....this AM..... Topped the oil and checked everything one more time .
 Loaded up and drove to Trace Lake  ( about 20 min from my place) it's just a small lake but nice for a shakedown cruise.

Let it idle a few minutes on the Trl checking for leaks ..... Nada.   Cruised around a bit, and its running good.  No leaks. Tach stopped working, but I think it's a loose connection under the dash I had the same issue last summer, should be an easy fix .

Got into it a couple of times and its running fine.  Back home and rechecking all the fasteners again and reinstalling engine cover and rear seats.  I'll try again to download the video.

Fixed it.   

Taking the boat out tomorrow for the final shakedown run. I checked all the fasteners and tightened everything after Monday's run..... It amazes me that even after putting a wrench to everything, after just 15-20 min how it all needs to be checked & re-torqued again

I think the first thing I would do is to ensure none of the spot welds are broken loose, otherwise you will chase that sombitch forever.   

What about some good old Ultra Black?

I got a 2 part high-temp epoxy and roughed up the metal on the pan and worked it - on/in/under- the triangular dipstick tube holder spot welded on the side of the pan. It's not the ideal fix .... And I'm not really sure it's even gonna work, but I'm not wanting to pull the engine at this point....... But, I do live in Mississippi, and perhaps a bit of redneck has soaked into me.... I just hope not TOO much...,,

now all you can do is keep your eye on it. good (TEMPORARY FIX) at the end of the season you now have a reason to pull the motor.

I ran it for about 20 min on the trailer and no leak.    I told my GF... Now I HAVE to pull the motor end of season....

that is a great reason, now you get to look at the motor when its out , and nitpick other things you dont like!

I've already got a list started ...... 

And I'll be very interested what exactly I have.... I was told it is  bored .30 over to a 468.... But I'm really don't know : cam.  Pistons etc etc

no poopie..   me to..   my float has been sitting for 7 mounths  and  i  smack the needle and seats on the carb for good measure  then hit the starter  and pump the gas a few times  and wammo..   thing ran super all weekend..     somthing  must be ready to blow up   this never happends ..  lol.   but  we should  be thankfull    .. happy boating  be safe  ..  a couple  fixes  should be the norm
