My brother had a 65 that he sold to a guy in AZ.  Did alot of work to it and ready for paint.  We found it 2 year later and guy tried to say he would sale it back to my brother.  Motor was blown up and car was cut up.  What a drag.  Guy just really dident know what he had.  I have to say that was one car I wish my brother kept.  Trying to gets find pics before and after.  You guys would not be leave what this guy did to it.  Sad sad deal but that's how it goes at times

My car is a 53 from Germany but it not time to post yet my other is a 64 bug ill try to post but my phone has bin jacked up hasn't let me post in a while. I build low rider vws my 53 is a box of smokes from the ground with a 2180 with a single demon carb running on 110 octane so give me a bit to fire up the old computer and will see what happens. My sons car I have a 1941 sitting in the garage getting dust on it so their u go. Maybe my wife will let me build a rail but she thinks I have to many hobbies already not including the float, jet skies. May be we should have a socal bug show and shine.

ya this is exactly what I had planned for the manx. so what IRS trans should I get to do the swap in the manx. I know I need axels cvs and some other hardware. just don't know much of the difference between 091s, 3 rib, 6 rib or whatever. I have only had swing cars.
In my opinion I would go with the 002 bus trans. It's probably the cheapest for how strong it is. 091 will set you back a couple grand at least to fix it if you ever had too. You can get the 002 bus trans done for around $1,000-1,200.

who knew all these big block guys also have a thing for air cooled 4 bangers.

We should all get together in glamis or out by myhouse for a weekend. Have you guys ever been to jawbone. its fun in a buggy for sure. plus there is 100 miles of BLM land surrounding my house so we can pretty much go where we want. Plus i can probably throw together ten more buggies to roll with us at any given time. and maybe a trophy truck or two. with film crew. lol.. we do off road right out here.

anyway keep the pics and advice coming. Maybe we should start a VW thread or have brad make us our own section

We have been to Jawbone Canyon. Pretty cool. Our favorite place for duneing is Dumont. We hope to go soon after boat season.

Just finished putting my 2276 dual sport back together. Can't wait till it cools off enough to get a full day of running.

It's put on by Carcraft in riverside. It's usually always the second weekend of October. So Carcraft goes to Glamis off Geico road and everybody is invited and they help you on your sand rails with tuning them. They take everybody out and we caravan the dunes and just have fun. You get to show off your stuff.

Yeah if you are with someone like us you are part of it.  It's cool just checking out other rides and when you need help everyone comes together and helps.  It's a good time to start the season.
