gas tanks for sale
« on: July 15, 2009, 07:23:02 PM »

     I ran across a guy that is selling some gas tanks , a pair of used alumn side tanks 5ft long by 11in to 9in taper and I forget how tall they were. He also has another pr of new 8in round tanks that are anodized purple. He wants $50.00 for the used pr. and only $300 for the new ones. If anyone is interested in them his number is 928-566-9842 and his name is Kristan, oh yeah he will ship also.

              Now that I read the add again I better reword part of it ...the 11 to 9"
 taper  is width of tank 11 top and 9 bottom  . not 11 to 9"  taper in the 5ft length in case anyone took it that way. thought I mention that just in case    ;D

Even I can't figure this one out.

I think I understand them to be  11" wide at the top and 9" wide at the bottom and 5' long, but I can't give you a volumn because I don't know how tall they are  :screwy:

Pics are the best way to get anyone here to understand  ;D

LMAO see whay I needed Keith? Iw as talking about the round ones anyhow,  ;D. 8" x Pi (3.1416) x 84 inches (7 feet) =2111.16 Cu Inches, /12 =175.92 cu ft of volume? (Dunno where the the 201 came from, musta been drinking calculating that one).

How many cu ft (Or inches) in a gallon? lol.

Roughly 7.5 Gal per cu ft., your using the wrong conversion for inches to feet............... ;D  Class dismissed. There are 1728 cu in. in one cu ft.  ;)

Try dis'

area of a circle = pi x radius squared....to convert cubic inches to cubic feet, divide by 1728... 7.48 gallons per cu. ft.  ;)

4X4 = 16 X 3.1416 = 50.27 square inces X length 84" = 4222.68 cubic inches / 1728 = 2.4436 cu ft. X 7.48 = 18.278 Gal....

Don't forget to use 90% as a figure for actual capacity   18.278X .9 = 16.5 useable capacity..... ;D
