Any one ever ride Ocotillo Wells?
« on: July 24, 2008, 09:23:31 AM »
It is coming up on the season(riding) and I will be gearing up for it. As soon as it cools down I would like to get an Ocotillo Wells trip set up. I am only 45 minutes from there so i can go anytime.

Anyone interested??

ocotillo is a lot of fun, we try to get there at least once a year, some pretty cool sights to find in the middle of nowhere :), blow sand, pumpkin patch, the natural sprins, mud pots, shell reef etc. some pretty good jumps out there as well and if you get bored superstition dunes is within riding distance.

You get a little of everything out there. I go to pole line road and it is perfect for my cause. I camp on a hill that overlooks a little valley so i can watch my 9 yr old ride his ass off and i can see him without obstruction. Then i take off for 30-40 mile loops which i hit every kind of dirt possible from washes to hills and desert hard pack.
I am almost too old for the track these days (note the almost) and this place is great for us. If you are into sand dunes, this isnt the place to find them. Blow sand hill is just that, one hill that sand blew on, so it isnt all that for the duners, but still fun.

i would love to plan a trip once the boats go into hybernation.

i have rode there a couple times. i am with denis. i ride a bike so some of the riding out there is a pain in the ass. and it is about 5 hours from my house. so if i am already that far i am going to just keep on going to glamis.

where exactly is this. i know of the two off of 395 and the one in cal city. and of corse our local track up here in ridgecrest.

Oh on that note if there is anyone on here that rides you all should come up for the ridgecrest grand prix. it is half desert half track and half obsticle corse it is a blast. it is part of the view finders big six grand prix series. but we only run the ridgecrest one.

all are welcome. it is in the begining of oct.

They have lights everywhere. I think we're going next friday. Probably 9:00 am to 1:00 or so. Cahuilla is a great track!!
