Mine is a '55. If you look close it still has the cutouts for the semaphores.

Let me know when you'll be there and maybe we can meet up. It's looking like my Thanksgiving will be there.

I don't worry so much about that. I just haven't finished my sand car. The prerunners weight to HP ratio is a little off for driving in the sand.

Alot of people think glamis is crazy like it used to be and it's not! I have been going there for the last 7 years and have seen none of the stupid shit that used to go on. They shut down comp at sundown so that keeps all the local gang bangers away. We have a friend who's 5 yr old rides all the way to the hill and the drags from gecko road all the time. Glamis has actually turned into a pretty family friendly place.

Taco'd "a person or people that show up with one lake lice and a family of 50 and cram 3 people at a time on it with no disregard to boating rules or ethics. Usualy crap in toilets and throw shit paper in trash cans. Hang out at the boat ramp like its a swimming hole. Have zero insurance on anything they own and dont give two shits less about your property."

Well I stopped going to Glamis in 2002 due to loss of friend from another buggy that ran into it, snapped his head off while his wife had to be sitting next to him headless! Yes you all are right stupid people, just like if we were on boat and theres a jet skiier cutting in front of you.

Thats a horrible story but on the other hand are you going to stop driving the 405 or any freeway that mtter just because someone died on it? not me. I have seen death at glamis multiple times it just makes me more aware of the situation and ride/drive different. I have been going to glamis since I was in the womb, shit I have never had thanksgiving dinner at dinning room table, I don't think turkey would be the same without sand in. So i'll never stop going they can close the place down and I'll still figure out how to run the dunes.  2 years ago my mom and step dad actually bought property out there behind boardmanville which is awesome but with all this railroad bullshit we can't ride from the property to the dunes anymore. I heard rumors of a new bridge being built at wash 10 to try to save the bar and make access to our property but I'll beleive it when I see it.

that is not the only reason why i stopped going, its because my group did.. mainly because it gets crowed with people that do not have toys, they're only going there to party and cause drama.. and because the sheriffs were messing with everyone non-stop, and alot of places closed up which makes it tighter space for everyone to go around. Im not saying id never go again, but thats if my group goes too. Anyways, I have been to glamis since I was five, my brother has gotten injuries there from accidents, not me though. Its just now nobody i know of goes there anymore other than gordons wells, ocatillo, pismo beach mostly now.

I go to Ocotillo because my girls ride on 2 wheels and I have the prerunner. Also because the hassle is a lot less. They don't bug me about registration... plus it seems to be a little more family oriented. I too have been going to Glamis since birth and will go again but not until the sand car is done.

I only had them give me a second look once: Driving in the whoops next to cahuilla 3-4th gear and the ranger attempted to turn around but was thwarted by a string of motor homes. Lucky me. Other than that I have even camped with some off duty rangers and had no problems. I'd prefer to go closer to home but my family lives in Ramona, plus I'm familiar with Ocotillo.
