Just curious why there are no LS twin turbo motors pushing 2k+? Is it just because it's cheaper to run nitrous?

Good question. I would love to do a turbo LS deal, actually thinking about doing one for the orange boat.
The turbo this had been proven by a few boats so far. Bobby fry would be one of them. But his was a standard bbc.

For me, nitrous has a bigger window of tunning ability for the track. Some of the fasted open boats are nitrous programs.

Also a 2000 hp turbo deal wouldn't be very good "river" motor

That is a good question. Being I'm one if not the only LS guy on scjb I think I can give you some input. (And I'm a HUGE ls fanboy)

They are phenomenal engines. They make stupid reliable power. However where do they make their power?

I'm running a 5.3. It has 243 heads,  a BTR cam and valve train. Runs VERY well for what it is.

However,  I can tell you I don't make enough torque to really take advantage of the hp I'm capable of.

I'm afraid it will be the same issue with a turbo ls.

The amount of hp they are capable of, is phenomenal. But do they have the torque to spin the big ass impeller to the rpm where they make their insane numbers?  I don't know but I'm guessing no.

Just an example. But I spin a BC to about 5200 on motor. According to the impeller charts. That's approx 370 hp... however on just a small little 150 shot im spinning approx 6400 that's approx 625-650 hp. (Again according to the chart)

Why? I think because the nitrous let's the 5.3 make power where the cam wants to. I'm not spraying enough nitrous for a 300 shot (63 jet on a cheater plate) but I'm bringing it into a rpm range where the cam really comes alive.

This is what I would be worried about in a TT ls deal. . Hitting a "wall" before making my hp. If that makes sense

I'm going to try a turbo LS. Going to try to set it up to make 1200 but will probably run in the 800-1000 range. Should have a good top end but don't think it will be enough to keep up out of the hole with the nitrous big blocks.
