. You going to attend two SoCal event and start at the bottom of the list?  The bottom of the list might be tough for a bit Lupo and you going at it for 9 th and 10th.

Just wondering, why don't you guys go a full 1320 or at least 1000 feet? Or was it just a 800 foot thing at that last lil get together at Elsinore? Seems like it would make things interesting to let the tunnels leg it out a bit further

It's a safety thing for the most part. And I agree with it for the most part. Going 110 120 on the river is no joke, especially with somebody next to you. Personally, I really don't like to leg out passes on the river past 1000ft.

It it's a fact that the gulwings will smash a tunnel to about 660 or so. But the tunnel will out run them on the big end.

. For a couple reasons safety is the main reason with speeds reach 120 and above. The second most river races are under 800' the deal at Elsinore was only 600'.

Gotcha makes sense. Just seemed like what I saw at Elsinore was that Johnny branch would be higher up the list if he ran farther. Maybe even that guy with the supercharged Daytona too

Gotcha, I didn't realize the Elsinore thing  was that short. I guess 800 would be pretty good then, another 200 feet would be a big difference. Although good to know wingers run well to the 1/8th since I'm building one

. That is true..... but they will run hard to the 1320 as well I've done it. Wingers own the river 660 to 800 for the most part. Me and Dennis ran over a thousand feet at 118 mph just not real smart. I would like to see no more the 110 on the river lives matter. But on the same hand I have seen things go wrong with all kinds of hulls at different speeds. Mechanical problem rouge wakes it does not take much at 100 mph to have a life changing experience. At this time my boat is set up on the safe side but I have made some passes on the lose side and it is a handful. Remember we have no rescue team. What we do have is some friends that's going to be in panic mode when things go bad.  You never know when you lined up next to the guy with one screw left in his loader or a 300 shot on a stock bottom end. So let's stay 800' or under and stay a safe as possible in a dangerous sport.

That 118 is a myth no track mph to prove. But would be safe to say we did go around 100 or so. And think 800 is good. Craigslist gps says I'm around low teens in that ft range. And wouldn't wanna come out at that speed especially since NONE of us except Jake wear the proper equipment for these speeds. #riverracerlifesmatter

Makes sense, nobody wants to get hurt or do something stupid for bragging rights. I've just been spoiled running wide open early mornings in Laughlin where you can stay in it for 1/4 or even a 1/2 mile without being sketchy. All it takes is a tiny bit of chop with my old boats current configuration to make it a wild ride.

Well your new one is going to give you a false sense of security. I ran mine 5 miles at 90 mph.  90 is a lot different then 100 I know it's only 10 mph but it's a big difference in our little shit boxes. Get you some seat time and a solid setup and use your brain and all will be good. Enjoy yourself
