Pretty sure I am racing the CZ at Glen Helen on Sat. but this weekend seems to be so nice I was wondering if anyone is going boating locally on Sunday.  The freaking wind should be gone by then and the air temp should still be up.  Sooo is there anyone who is gonna be looking for a chance to test, tune or    this weekend in preparation for the meet later this month?

I had to take my one of my kids to a scout thing so the race got scratched, but tomorrow ain't gonna!  Cover off, trickle charger on, compressor pumping up the tires, got the other grommet running the vacuum shortly,  ice chest stocked awaiting ice  . . .  am I forgetting anything?   8)

I will text you later 88, when I have a better idea of when I will head out.  Are you bringing your boat or you just wanna float with me and the rugrats.   Right now I am expecting to be hitting the Del Taco in Perris about 8:30 ish.  I think I may have to leave kinda early cuz I gotta run the little one somewhere at 4 p.m. back in Redlands

How bad is lake elsinore? Ive always heard that it is really dirty, shallow and not a really nice place to go. Ive heard it referred to as lake guacamole. im looking for somewhere decent and somewhat local to the IE that i can take the motorhome down for the weekend (35') and either beach the boat or rent a slip. Is Lake elsinore a place i can do this?

Sorry for all the questions i just havent checked it out yet, and perris wont let my motorhome in they said the max is 31'

thanks

Elsinore or Silverwood are really your only choices and I don't know about Silverwood and the RV.  Summers at Elsie will see the water get a bit unpleasant and yes sometimes shallow if it has been a dry winter.  Algae growth is gross and does make for crazy slick ramps.  But it is big enough to have fun and great mjd week or off season.

Steve, these guys are really making the place sound worse than it is.  At the end of summer, yeah it isn't that pleasant, but don't let them keep you from coming out and having a good time.  Use the city ramp downtown and avoid the slippery when wet issue at the ramp and you will be closer to Coors Cove anyway.  Obey the ski pattern and have a good time.  If coming on a weekend, Saturdays are usually less crowded than Sundays.  If you want to ski, water will get choppy by 8:30 and often the wind will come up around 2pm.  No towables is the rule, but I have seen them used occassionally off season.

But yeah, be sure not to drink the water.

Steve , Elsinore has put a new ramp at their city Rv park off of Riverside dr. Very nice it's has 6 lanes or more plenty of trailer parking also, it is in the same area as the Rv park The Rv park is the next upgrade as of now no dump hook ups or 50 amp it's on a first come basis you can get your Motorhome in their it's not the greatest park but it works , I have seen the plans for the " upgraded Rv park " and it will be nice , when they get to it is another thing. Also they have done a lot of improvements to the lake with trying to get rid of the green algae but it is a work in progress , but it is definitely better then it was 5 or 10 years ago , I think Their are  a couple of other Rv parks that have launch ramps , cranes is my choice nice park if you can get on the water , but the ramp is real shallow,

Dude, in all seriousness.. Elsinore is fun. I've camped with my folks at http://lakeelsinoremarina.com

The few times I've been there, the camp hosts are relaxed and the full time blue hairs are cool. As long as you don't ride your bmx bike off the slanted storage shed roof onto the grassy knoll below, next to the launch ramp nobody will bitch.

Fish all night and have fun.

I have to agree with bj, i grew up at elsinore. Parents friends had a house right on the lake and would launch in their back yard. Its alot cleaner than it was 10 years ago and its a pretty nice lake till about noon if you have a low pro boat. Many a times as a kid I member waking up in the morning and finding a swamped boats bow bobbing 20 so feet from their shore line. Still a pretty cool place.
