Sounds like Brad is carrying a 650 pound anchor in the back of his boat.  A little excessive don't you think buddy?   

I usually anchor nose out and the boat is in waist deep water.....

Depending on how far out of the water your transom sticks you may want to anchor backwards.  If i park nose first i get water splashing over the transom all day long soaking my motor, electronics, and filling the boat with water.   It can also push sand against the bucket making it stick (not fun when you figure it out).

 I started backing my boat in this year and I am not going back.   I put a sand anchor in the front (if you are anchoring in rocks it sounds like the box anchor is the way to go) and another in the rear keeping my boat out about 10ft. This keeps the jet out of the sand and the boat from flooding all day. The two anchors keep tension on each other and the line absorbs any wakes or waves.

This seems the best way, I use a heavy weight instread of that pos anchor I have. I back in a drop it in and tie of to the front cleat now.

ya you always want the nose end out or sideways. if the back is out your your getting waves in your ride and no one wants that..
