Irvine Lake
« on: February 26, 2014, 12:51:38 PM »
I attended the Lucas drag boat races last spring at Irvine Lake, had a good time. I was wondering if any of you boaters that have somewhat of a hot rod boat have ever gone to Irvine Lake for an outing. If so, what was it like? and the overall experience there. Is there a strict noise ordinance of any sort?, I have a typical shallow V jet boat with  a BBC, tunnel ram two carbs open headers with water injection. It’s not all that loud but it does thump a little. I was wanting to try going up there for a day in the next few weeks….Thanks

I found out last week when I called Irvine Lake that they don't allow jet boats on the lake at all, and the lady was actually a real douche bag about it, I ended up just hanging up on her....LOL
Only on a few special occasions have they let v-drives and jets on the lake, maybe they will do that again some day.

Haa, the water looked nice, at least cleaner than Elsinore...I was trying to find another somewhat local lake that I could take my boat out for a day. But the river is still the best.

Elsinore is good as long as you stay in the boat or on shore...well at least for me it is cause it's only 5 min away hehe. Cops on there aren't too big of douche bags.

The only way boats like ours are allowed on irvine is for wendsday afternoon test and tune. It's 50$ to run there one boat on the lake at a time and lots of boats trying to make passes.

Irvine Lake is owned by a V-drive guy....
That's why.
(Puddingstone OT headers are not allowed at all....), Elsinore, and any other lake surrounded by homes have restrictions on the over transom exhaust due to the noise that are easily waved off if the ramp nazis can visually see bafflles in your headers.
At Elsinore they only comment on it to warn you about LP.
