Parasite possibly at Elsinore...
« on: August 12, 2008, 01:49:08 PM »
So I think I may be taking the kids to a different lake after seeing this.  I saw this on ER once, never thought it actually happens.
Check out the link for the full article.  Doesnt' say that it is for sure that the boy got the parasite from Elsinore but it never says that he didn't get if from there either.
Just thought you should know.....

Taco'd "a person or people that show up with one lake lice and a family of 50 and cram 3 people at a time on it with no disregard to boating rules or ethics. Usualy crap in toilets and throw shit paper in trash cans. Hang out at the boat ramp like its a swimming hole. Have zero insurance on anything they own and dont give two shits less about your property."

You know those big things floating on the water - the ones that aren't the outhouses? Those have HUGE props below to try and stir the water so it doesn't become stagnant.

Last time I was there, there were a few huge fish dead and floating for no apparent reasn. The news article came out about 2 weeks later and I decided for me I'm done there.

When I first heard this story, I admit, I was a little worried about it.  But once I finally got on the internet and google'd it, it is actually more common than one would think.  It doesn't happen all the time but it did happen twice in Havasu last year and nobody made a big deal about that.
So yeah, it does suck and it's pretty crazy.  But I guess stranger things have happened.
