If the weather is nice I wonder how crowded it will get, I went up there a few times later last year and had a good time, water was clean. I have a feeling the cops will be out on the water in full force on that weekend, I have Rewarder headers on mine with no baffels, but have water going through them, as far as dry pipes I'm not sure, maybe if you don't draw attention to yourself by standing on it hard, perhaps they won't bother you. One thing about pyramid is make sure your boat is very dry, they will inspect for any standing water for that stupid mussel, even though they can't stop it...LOL

I run my hydro with dry pipes when the kids aren't in the boat and they have never given me crap about any of it.

Yup that's Tru if you go out there and draw attention to yourself. They may talk to you but like I said u never had any issues with any of my boats . And the water level is up which is nice no moss . Make sure the boat is dry.

Ok cool thanks guys. I'm not one that like a lot of attention. But like anyone else I like to open her up once in a while. I also have the option to run water thru the pipes as well. Are you guys going out Sunday Monday?

Mine was stiff when working it back and forth on the trailer.
Once I got it on the water and under power, it was amazing!

Glad I found this thread. Been wondering if anyone was heading to Pyramid this weekend. I'm a newbie and would like to meet up if any forum members are heading out.

Been to Pyramid twice so far this year. More specifically, twice in the last month. A bit further drive than Castaic, of course. However, at this point, considering the level of water at Castaic is less than ideal (one launch ramp completely closed down), it's clear Pyramid is the better choice and worth the extra mileage and time.

Water level at Pyramid is also sustained. Worth mentioning, the place is teeming with law enforcement. I run open headers with water and have yet to be questioned or harassed. I would assume as long as you aren't being a complete jackass, a quick wave as they pass should suffice. The officers seem cool and one of them came over to take a look at my truck and then asked why my boat wasn't full of chicks, rather, full of dudes. Ha!

To 86caribbean's/nolimitdieselandfab's point, you will be inspected top to bottom for water. No joke, they are thorough and will search the boat for ANY trace of water or moisture. They even went as far as pulling my my seat cushions. My advice, put ALL of your coolers, ice, drinks, etc. in the back of the truck. I would assume for a major holiday weekend, they'll really be on the lookout. They have no problem turning people away. Wet weather looks like it's coming in on Thursday/Friday as well...covering the boat with everything I've got.

Was going to head to pyramid but it will be a zoo. Great lake to go to and enjoy the day. I am going to head to Buena Vista lake instead. If any body changes their minds I will be out there making noise.

Yeah, been up there twice last year, as far as the water inspection goes, they had me pull back my boat cover to look in the engine bay, I had nothing to worry about, I keep it spotless and dry, once they saw that, they were good with it. My question to these facilities is we all know that there is still water in the engine and maybe some in the jet bowl, but nothing you can do about that. I can tow back from the river go through Vidal inspection station, get my inspection tag as being clean and go right to any lake in SoCal put it in the water and fire it up, and within a few seconds the water that was in the engine / bowl is pumped right into that body of water, so who do they think they are kidding?, it must just boil down to money again. I know this Quagga / Zebra mussel may be causing some issues, but the truth is they can't stop it, maybe just slow it down. The weather is still looking kind of shitty for this week and weekend, plus crowds and Ranger Rick in full force on the water doesn't really turn me on, I'm going to pass on this one, I'm heading out to Parker the following weekend for three days. Although I will plan a day up to Pyramid Lake on an off weekend when it's warmer, I'll post on here when I decide to go, or see if there is a large SoCal jet boat group planning a trip...Have fun and be safe for all that go on Memorial.

I don't think its going to be as packed as we all think, Being a 3 day weekend a lot of people will be taking advantage and going out of town. If we were on jetskis then it would be an issue. But with boats i think we will be ok. What days are everyone going out?

If I remember pyramid its not a huge lake. But it will be packed with jet ski's. We just have to be responsible boaters. But have a good time as well. I plan on going up for the day Sunday.

They only allow 50 jet skis in so its not to many. I believe its 75 or 100 boats
