ajax chat

ever thought of integrating ajax chat? i use it on a couple vbulletin forums and its fun to sit in chat with people sharing ideas and general talk and it keeps down on "chat" in the forums and keeps threads on track. I noticed there is a SMF version for authentication, etc. you can ban users, blah blah. supported on mobile, ipad, desktop.

just something to think about.

ah bummer. i have a great time with some mustang buddies shootin some sh%t throughout the day, bouncing ideas off heads, etc. i guess if you dont have the traffic of people in the chat it doesnt really work. theres usually 2-20 people in ours during the weekdays.

Yeah there was a chat and it got lost in an upgrade. Theres a few ajax powered chat room plugins out there for smf but all of them are clunky and dont integrate well. The one i had before was flash based. Super clean and worked well....but it was flash....and flash will be obsolete soon. Id like a chat room again. It was back in the earlier years of scjb and got mostly used on week day evenings.....lots of good fun shit talking happened. Id like to bring it back. Ill see what i can dig up.

Some people never will understand how aweful apple products are until they actually try to deal with their development department. I thought I hated apple products before, now I REALLY hate them. It will be some time before the apple app will be available, but the android app is pretty much tested and ready to go. I am not sure if I am going to wait until the apple app is approved by them to release them both at the same time or just release the android app and tell all you iphone lovers to go pound sand and wait.

BTW, thanks for the donation. Any bit helps, I am several hundred dollars into this app, and it will be free once its available. Why? because i love this site.

Release the android app, I know first hand how crappy apple development is from making games. Buy I still use an iphone and think it is a better phone os than android. Having both an iphone 4s and galaxy s III.

I am a decent typer but I will never be able to type on my phone fast enough to make keeping up in a chat room very much fun.
I know I'm old, and maybe I don't remember so good but I remember the SCJB chat room consisting mostly of a few guys quickly running out of things to say and then starting in with guys all calling other guys gay. There is a lot of new blood on the site now so maybe things would be different. Couldn't hurt to try.

Glasscutter, you must referring to the warlock/plesh/macsrollin shit show.

thats another thing.....as we move into the mobile age, not many people visit the site anymore from a computer. Theres several people on here who only use tapatalk to view the site and have never seen the home page or some of the other features I've spent a lot of time incorporating into the site that arent seen with the tapatalk app.

I use mostly the computer on here. It's when I am out and about that I use the smartphone. Go for it Brad and release it for the Droid! Pisses me off when I see an app that I would like to try and is only for apple and not Droid

I normally use my ipad at home to browse the site because the wife and my 10yo are attached to the laptop for some reason but normally when im not at home I use tapatalk. It would be cool to have a chat, a few other forums im on have em but I never really use em, this is the only forum I really enjoy because most of its members are local so I know id be using it.

It started to get pretty bad , you had some guys who thought they were internet tough guys threatening to beat people up! Those people are all either banned or just don't come around anymore.
