Most of you mite know but I just wanted to let those who didn't know if your traveling thru Amarillo Texas on the East 40 ... it's a death trap !! Especially if you have California plates. I had to travel back east for a death in the family and I thought it would be better to go by car ... well I was wrong . Made it through Arizona and new Mexico.  Started the second day and all of a sudden hit amarilo. .. let me tell you ... it turned into an episode of cops ... we  ..me and my mom got pulled over ...she was driving.  The Tropper said he was giving her a warning and asked any wepons drugs and so on ...we said no ... can I search. . We said sure ...all of a sudden this mother fucker pulls me out of the car then starts searching the car ...a rental. ..and comes back with some green sucker and a small jar of grass . I am a California medical marajana patient with current and correct paperwork with me . This sucker and grass IS NOT MINE ! all my grass is labeled with code and unaltered. So he pulls my mom out of the car and shit gets real ... he starts telling me that he knew it was in there .. I tell him hell no THAT SHIT IS NOT MINE !  Now he has me and my mom on the side of the rode in bum fuck Egypt and my mom is trying to defend me ...he starts cussing and degrading my mom all while I'm trying to stay calm ... he puts me in cuffs ...my mom gets more crazy ... I tell her to stop ....STOP... mom SHUT THE FUCK UP .  I tell him where MY grass is and he tosses the hole car with his other 2 Tropper buddy's ... they find nothing else .. his dog couldn't find anything so he turns back to my mom and cussing her agin while I'm in cuffs and says... you smell like beer ... by this time I'M FUCKING PISSED. .. so he puts me in his SUV and gives mom a subriaty test ...she passes. But he will not stop. So we had a cooler in the back seat with 2 sprites and 2 waters ... so he pulled it out and says ... it smells like beer ... he pours it out takes her license and says fowlow me .... I'm sitting in his cruzer watching this the whole time . He books me for a gram to less than a gram of hash ... witch in the state of Texas is a felony. . He rights my mom a ticket for open container witch is $380 . I spend the night in jail ... they never read me my meranda rights till the next day ...never tell me what I'm charged with ... don't give me my bond price. . And tell my mom she can sleep in the parking lot until my bond is set . You could imagine what this would cause anyone.  There's alot more that gose with this as far as them steeling the cash I had on me and the bail bondsman and the attorney the bail bondsman recamened.  There all in each other's pockets. ...BEWARE IF YOUR TRAVELING EAST 40 THOUGH AMARILO TEXAS.

Wow that's some horseshit man. Hard to stay calm with that kinda shit happening to you. Maybe someone with some legal knowledge can chime in. But it's tough no matter what they believe the crooked ass cops. Been there done that. It's amazing how shady some cops are.

I'm good ... I'm still in Arkansas.  I need to find an attorney but the one the bail bondsman recamened is in there pockets as well so when I get back to California I will have to see what I can do . This shit is nuts .

If they didn't handle the arrest properly there's a possibility an attorney could have it dropped.

An ex of mine was on her way through AZ and was stopped at one of those border check in the middle of the desert. Dogs alerted so she was forthright about what she had...a gram and pipe. She was charged with a felony, but a lawyer was able to have it completely dismissed. She was also a medical user in CA.

I know none of this helps, but it's an experience. Good luck! Don't go down without a fight because of a couple over-zealous dickface cops. Next time don't consent to that search. They had no probable cause.

I know the search deal buy my mom was the driver and is in her 60s and dose not consider what I use for meds illegal that's why she said sure . I knew better buy hey can't do nothing about it now . I have a cracked L2 in my back and refuse to let the Dr cut open my back . I just wanted to let any and every one know that stretch of road is a nightmare with or without any grass in your car . I was # 6 that day that was from california and all of us were for grass ... altered constraints.  They didn't charge me with my 10 grams of grass ..that would of been a mistaminor. They charged me with a gram to less than a gram of hash or consintraight witch is a felony.

I was the passenger in the car ...he had no reason to run my license but when he did he found out I was a med patient and was determined to find something.

Sucks you had to go thru that. Hope it all gets resolved, but when you get stopped by the police, he has every right to ask the driver and all passengers for their identification and run their license.

I had a card for many years until it screwed my life insurance renewal, classified as full smoker for taking 1 hit at night to sleep instead of harsh drugs. Have to wait a year now.

I'm strongly for using weed for medical or recreational purposes. Nobody ever smoked a bowl and went home to beat the shit out of their wife. If you go back to when it began in the 50's some government asshole was about to lose funding so he made up a bunch of lies to get funding to go after marijuana.

Being a rental car,  there may be a way to establish the car was not your personal property,  therefore not in your possession at all times.

And yes they were completely aware of where we were traveling to.

And we have contacted the rental company and have told them the complete story. They contacted the police department and that's how I know that they changed me with the mystery green lollipop. The head of security of avis has informed us that the corporate attorneys are getting involved.

This could be good or bad.

Weird, I've made that drive a bunch of times and never had that issue. Hell, I just towed that Eliminator from SoCal to Fort Worth, with no plate on the trailer. Bummer deal though, sorry man.

The posted speed limit is 75 mph thru there ... he said he pulled us over because mom fluctuate from 73 to 78 and did not signal for a lane change and was just gona give her a warning.
