I just looked at my profile and today is my 1 month anniversary on SoCalJetBoats; thanks to help from a lot of folks on this board, it's been an eventful month. I joined SCJB after seeing Brad's listing on Craig's List; since I've wanted a boat for some time but was never able to get into one, I joined as 'wanabe' because 'I want to be' a boat owner; I sure didn't expect to have a boat one month later, but, as mentioned above, with a lot of help from many folks on this board, I came upon the right deal (yet to be seen if I can get it running: http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=833.0); it may not be exactly what I wanted (an open bow would have been better for the family), but it's a start.

I've gone from 'newbie' to 'jr member' in the month and with all the questions I'm coming up with to post for help, I should hit full member quickly.

I still don't have  a boat, but I get to live Vicariously through people like yourself.  I grew up taking family vacations at water wheel on the river ever since I can remember.  My parents had a tahiti with a big block and dry pipes (good thing they are deaf, but I'm not) One day I will have a boat just like that,  but faster.  (if my wonderful woman will let me) But for now... I will watch you guys have fun.

First, my project's not running yet, so I'm still living vicariously thru others on this board myself.
That was the reason I joined SCJB; I've had an eBay search for over 2 years looking for the boat I could afford but didn't need too much work; I bid a couple but was always outbid (missed 1 by $100); I also searched Craig's List and other sites; anyway, I put the word out after I joined this website and couldn't believe the help others gave me; many of the leads weren't what I wanted but then ran into the right deal (just have to get it running).
