1977 hawaiin day cruiser
« on: August 11, 2013, 09:47:02 PM »
Hi everybody im new to this forum. last year i purchased a 1977 hawaiin day cruiser with the original trailer on craigslist for $1000 dollars. When i found it it was sitting underneath an old sap tree for two years. It would not start when i tried to jump it with my pickup truck. Something about this boat made me buy it anyways. I bought a new starter for it and cleaned up some of the wiring and it fired right up! Ran like crap the first couple of times i took it out because of the bad gas in the tanks. 3rd Time was a charm engine smoothed out and ideled nicely. Installed a Edelbrock airgap intake manifold and a Holley 750 marine carburetor from national carburetor and today on my landnavigation device it showed i was going 56 mph. Is this normal speed for these boats? MY daycruiser is 22ft long.
