77 charger question
« on: March 26, 2014, 07:13:42 PM »
Going to look at a 77 charger with a 460 BBF this weekend. I was looking for some input on what to look at with the hull like areas to check? Just any info and advice would be great. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I owned that boat like two years ago or so. I bought it from some jackass out in downey, ca. He got it running good before I got there, I was young and got happy feet and bought it. Once I got it home, I figured out there had been water in the gas tanks. So I flushed them and did the whole algae solution stuff too. Back when I had it it had a BBC that was the best thing about it. The motor ran good. He had the wrong alternator on it, and all the plumbing and wiring was hacked. So I slowly was going through it when an older guy from havasu I believe he worked at magic boats gave me an offer cause he had been looking for a charger project. So besides all that, the hull seemed to be pretty good, the interior was beautiful, they switched the motor to a BBF and added a bimini. Seems to me like the guy took control of it. I would check it out, just test drive it if u can. Check the tanks and stuff, look over the electrical. Just dont make the stupid mistake I did. I think the guy did a nice job with it though.
