Hey guys, would anyone know of a place I might be able to pick up some 3/16" 6061 plate stock in So. Cal. ?
I only need a small amount, 12"x 12" or 12"x 24" for a couple brackets on the Daytona.

I'm having a very hard time finding any without paying a $150. - $200. minimum.
Thanks for any ideas.

they're off of anahiem at the 710.

i bought all my steel there and little tidbits as well. they'll cut it to size as well. if its something you want to be clean give a pad so that you can grind or cut back to final measurement as the cuts will be rough.

IMS, you can buy a rem for scrap cost.  I think it's like 2.00 a pound.  The one on Main st/ Riverside ave in Riverside has racks of rems you can choose a piece from.  I buy rems there all the time for my projects, it's a bunch cheaper than ordering to size.  Probably get what you need for 10.00 bucks

x2

Minimum band-saw cut at IMS is $10.  Shear and circular-saw (for plate) cuts are more expensive.  Always best to go and look through the Rems (Remnants) first, wherever you go.  Rems are sold by the pound, just make sure that you are grabbing from right area.  For example, if you don’t get a rem marked with blue and green paint, it can be full-price instead of $2.99/lb.

When you go to IMS, make sure that you sign up on their email list, they often run coupon specials.  If you are a student, make sure that you take your student ID with you for a discount.
