I have a $70 medium sand spike.
A $15 attwood spade anchor from walmart and two sandbags from my jet ski days that usually end up holding the ez up down.

My spade or fluke style anchor works bitchin in the sand once it works itself down and buries. It sucks for rocky stuff but will snag and hold between rocks or sunken trees.

Always wanted a high dollar box anchor but can't justify $100+ for that when my welfare one works just fine.

Make your anchor line twice the length of your boat and use 10' of galvanized chain between your anchor and line.

Edit: I also have heavy duty bungee cords made by straight-line that I have one between the snap hook for the bow eye and the anchor line and the other I have between the sand spike and the line for the sand spike. Helps to not pull anchor or spike loose when there's good size wakes.

I have a box anchor, i found a deal on Craigslist got it with a million feet of rope for 80 bucks and I spent the $$ on a sand spike in Parker cause I needed one believe I paid 80 bucks at ecolodge for it but can't beat the combo works great never any issues.

I GOTTA SAY THE BOX ANCHOR AND SAND SPIKE COMBO IS BY WAY FAR THE EASIEST AND LESS HASSLE TO DEAL WITH.

regular ol dansforth with 6' of chain and a 50' rope.  you toss it out there far enough and when you pull on it at that angle, all it does is dig deeper.   then a spike for the rear so i dont get yelled at by BLM for tying to a tree.   

I use the small box and the small spike

200lbs of concrete buried in the sand with 30ft of heavy chain for the bow.

(2) 75lb buckets of concrete buried sideways in the sand connected by 30ft of chain to move stern in or out depending on water level.

While out and about standard V style anchor with 8ft of chain with a spike for the times I don't want to sway.
Does the Ranger really bitch about that or is it a park employee? The Ranger's have always been pretty cool if your not too stupid. The park employees where I'm at are all idiots, I think you must be a high school drop out and missing several teeth to get an interview 

it was the same guy who drives around in a boat and checks that you have the little pass filled out to use the campground in havasu.  i think he also checks for registrations as well because we forgot to put stickers on our seadoo's and MAGICALLY the lake patrol guy showed up.
