Any New V8 Powered Jet Boats Being Made?
« on: September 14, 2011, 07:38:10 PM »
I'm amazed how scarce V8 powered jet boats are now, given how many were built in the '70s by so many manufacturers.

Other than a few aluminum river racing boats, and the Eliminator 19/21 Daytonas, are there any new V8 powered jet boats being built these days?

I think the Rouse boats go for about $40K and it buys you the equivalent of a custom built Corvette.  Room for a family and serious MPH in a boat that will turn heads everywhere it goes.   Just sayin'

didnt jason post that a new hull is under $10k?  i dont see where the other $30k comes from.  you could rig a boat for half that.

Last I got from Jason was the bare hull only was $25k, and that might be a speshul lowball price in and of itself. So $40k turnkey and blown is a HUGE deal!

I think $10K was only for the one he had that was solid white, no color.  I don't think it included a trailer either.
I saw over on RDP that Berkley was running a "special" where you could trade in a used pump for new.  An entire pump with diverter was nearly 4 grand !   Jason has done some special engineering so that the belt and pulleys are on the pump side away from passengers too.  It reallly is a well thought out 95-105 mph boat.  Considering how long you can keep a boat with proper maintenance I think it is a steal.
Danny Donahue was making some damn nice boats based on the Spectra bottoms and his were coming in about the same price with a carb motor.  Yeah I guess you could go out and spend the same money on a new ZL-1 Camaro but it won't look and feel nice in 15 yrs that's for sure.

Maybe if you rigged your "new hull" with used parts you got out of the scjb spam section

Actually, Matt and Randy at Jet Boats Plus rigged that boat and worked that dealio on the blower along with Rich at Mooneyham. But still, yes, very cool idea and why I've stolen it. Better idea on a BBF than a BBC, really.

Those (insert "nutty" here, 'cuz regular people don't think like this) guys did it on a customers Hallett cruiser first, then that same customer bought one of Jason's hulls and had them rig it the same way. Rumour is, Drake since sold that boat and has ordered another from Jason. Matt (fastfred on the boards here) would be the only one to confirm or deny all this, but from what I was told, that boat was pulling 109MPH when he sold it.

Its all on my website just go to current projects and youll find it. The first Rouse with the reverse blower is on page two and the new one is on page three. A bare hull no trailer is around 8500 to 10000 depending what you want. My website is   www.jetboatplus.com. Theres more pics of some of the builds we have done.
