I have a 2006 titan and code p1757 came up and with some research it might be a valve body in my trans. Anyone have this issue?

Me and Brandon both have Titans, but I've never had that code. What's the truck doing?

It went into a kinda slip mode on transmission. Once you have driven a bit, braking activates it. After that its starts out in 4th gear. Titan forums suggest valve body and had a local shop check it out...they said take it to stealership. Going in today as its my work truck. The valve body part is around 800 bucks plus labor.

Hey.. i manage a transmission shop in OC.. the Titan, Frontiers & pathfinders are all haveing issues with the radiators going bad.. The coolant mixes with the fluid.. The Etheline glycol damages the clutch linings & ruins the valve body, ( you know, water and electronics dont mix well).. so yes a valve body is probably needed, but so is radiator and quite possibly a transmission.

No fluid mixing....just the issue at hand. That was the first thing I checked was radiator and thanx for that info.

Yeah, what he said. It's a real common problem. Pending on how long you've had the truck, it could have been an old problem that was "fixed" but not fully. Or you could be some thing electrical, my truck was doing some weird stuff before I had my ECM replaced.

I ended up taking it to dealer but researched as much as possible....at first they told me new transmission. The part thats bad is a valve body in the trans and after talking it over with the service rep and head mechanic, they are replacing just that part. My fluid is in great shape and no other issues. I have owned since new....

How many miles? I had two titans and put over 150k ruff/work miles on them both with no issues ever

116,000 and had since new. I have had...rear end replaced then seals later on, headers replaced, electrical components replaced, fuel pump and sender 3 times replaced, power steering high pressure line replaced and so on. This valve body took a crap while I was at idle in a UPS parking lot. I used to be a vender for mossy nissan and this is the norm for them.

Ha, yeah I thought I was good and then all of a sudden got hit with everything. I've never had a problem out of the ordinary with this truck.

With that many problems you might be able to get a lawyer and force a buy back from nissan under the lemon law. You would be surprised some of the stories I have herd from people on fairly new trucks that have gotten a full asking price buy back. My friend Gary had his truck for close to 5 years and got every penny he paid for it back due to the lemon law.

Are you guys for real?... I would have set fire to that fugger in the dealership parking lot....

My last Chevy 4X4 pickup went 290,000 without even having the valve covers removed, three sets of tires, one set of brakes and two batteries. $:-\$ I built a motor for it and sold it and now guy runs a Backflow prevention service out of it and he loves it. I thought these trucks were supposed to be THE bomb, not A bomb...

Everything but the rear end seals and this valve body issue was under warranty. I miss my Ford and will eventually go back to one. I'm glad this didn't happen on my way out to the river....

Tell me about it, try having everything little thing go wrong on the float all weekend. Yeah six times out seven times towed. And then on the way home dropping the radiator, oh and it's Memorial Day... 11 miles south of Fresno.

And as far as problems, it's all minor stuff. That I've had. Exhaust manifold leaks (twice), rear seal, ECM relay recall, fuel gauge recall, and wear and year items. Not like a tranny on a regular 70k circle.

Question** I thought you had to have the same problem multiple times for the lemon law?

Nah you don't. Can be a list of things. The post from Marc is the guy that has mailed me about the problems with the super duty. Had a list of things going wrong with em. So far for me I've had one of those on the list, radiator started to leak a couple of months after I got it. Have some friends that have had other problems with their SD's that were on the list too.

I believe its 3 times on same part. I'm thinking now about getting a new radiator with the trans cooler separate. Mine doesn't show signs of mix but am worried as that is a common problem. Other than these issues, I dig the styling, handling of it. Before I purchased this truck, I did test drive 2 brand new fords of similar equipment and both had transmission issues....

I also have a titan. 2006 SE package. 4door. 4wheeldrive. Owned since new also. Had to replace radiator after previous one cracked. Had dealer replace exhaust manifolds twice. And I think the driver side is leaking again. A/C vent selector moves on its own about once a month. Have 67,000 miles on it. Overall it's been a good truck. No major complaints.....just headaches here and there.

Yeah, no matter how much we all would love a perfect problem free truck. It just isn't going I happen. Too much money is made in the service and repairs of autos. Hahaha

Woulda never guessed a newer Nissan would have problems like this so common. My mom had a Maxima in the eighties that just wouldn't die and ran like a sewing machine. Only reason my dad let it go was to get a Tahoe in 96 when the Vortech came out so he could pull the hallett without using the dually... cause fuel was RIDICULOUS at that time, like $1.25/gallon.
