Bad news

My boat bud got attacked at work last week and got sliced up pretty bad across his face. This kind of thing usually happens to cops, so we were all shocked when it happened to a plumber!!! They flew him to San Diego for emergency surgery (they had a cosmetic surgeon standing by). It's taken me a while to write about it because I've been too ticked off. I wanted to choke the livin sh*t out of the inmates that did it. Dave is such a cool laid back dude. Turns out that Dave fired the inmate that attacked him from his crew so the inmate wanted payback. I'm getting angry again thinking about it. And people think we're overpaid.
Time for a beer and bed.

i hope they put the guy in solitary where he will never see the light of day again. people like that arent even human and should be treated as inhumane individuals.

on a side note, (sorry to hijack) ...check out a movie called Bronson....its in the theaters in europe...due here in the states sometime in july. i downloaded it on a hunch... its a movie about britians most famous inmate....crazy flick.

WOW! This hits me where I live, usually freestaff is kind of exempt from bullshit & attacks, I wish nothing but the best for your partner.  My 3rd week on the job in Corcoran SHU and I got gassed, not near as bad as slashed, but it's still an attack on your person, I still have some friends in various SHU programs, I could make sure they keep an eye out for your partner's attacker if you'd like...........

THis IS Bubba and friends. Unfortunatly this shit happens everyday somewhere. The sad part is he prolly wont get that much for doing it, maybe a little time in seg. Some of these people have NOTHING to lose he may have done it just for a rush, or the guy woke him up or something stupid like that. I think we need to bring back public hangings and chain gangs. Prisons are resorts for some of these people I say give them shorter sentences but keep them busy and tired, no time to form gangs and plan attacks. After wittnessing a few hangings on the yard, oh yea make it mandatory to watch, they wouldnt even think of attacking someone and they DAMN sure wouldnt want to come back. They dont CARE if they come back over and over again, it's like old home week for them, family reunion or some shit. It's just a p[lace for them to get "healthy" some of them have it better inside then on the outs. Trust me , I know.....

It'll be a while before he gets to shu, but I'll get you his name. The worst part is he didn't even have the balls to do it himself, he hired someone else to do it. They got him good too. They got him "behind the wall" in the vocation area away from gun coverage. But as Dave tried to get away, he came into view of the yard gunner and she called it out over the radio and racked a round in the rifle. That's what stopped them or it could've been much worse.

If more people thought like that we'd have a safer world. But then I'd probably be out of a job too. Freakin California Liberals have turned our prisons into training camps for criminals. Drugs are easier to get in Prison than the streets and gangs unite to control the drug trade. It's out of control.

Shoulda busted a cap in they ass......set an example. These type people are animals and should be exterminated while you have them in custody. Look at the examles they set for our youth, heard a rap song lately? Fuck vocation, chain them up and work them 12 hours a day and hang the ones who think it's glamorous or dont comply...IN PUBLIC. Like the first school shootings, if they hung the little pricks and showed ALL how they flop around pissing and shitting all over them selves and tounge and eyeballs popping out there wouldnt be a next one......IMO    Have a nice day  ;D

I hate to hear those stories :mad:  We had one a couple months ago but the hit was put on outside the yard. 
I am thankful that my personal interaction with inmates is mainly a porter or the grounds keepers.
I wish your friend a speedy recovery and hope the surgeon earned his keep  with a minimal of scaring.

Your buddy should have never been in "harms way" when tending to the prisons needs, just doing his job.  That is royally F***ed up of the system that something like that is EVEN POSSIBLE!!!  We will pray for him and his speedy recovery, also for no signs that it ever happened. 

Wow!  This is such a controversial topic...  I'm sure they had plastic surgeons waiting for him hoping to "tend his wounds" and make him better before he decides to file a lawsuit on their asses!  Although I hate the "sue happy" people out there, I'm sure he would win this one (unless he signed some ridiculous release of liability to perform the job) and he deserves some compensation for it, too!  Not just to have his wounds mended and then be on about their merry way...  and be expected to come back and fix more shyt, too.

Ok, first off, I'm going to politely ask you to go and eat a fat cock.  As for the guy being "in harm's way" It's a fuck_ing level 3 & 4 prison, the inmates are not there for having a late parking ticket, there is no place out of harm's way. As to being corrupt and not doing our jobs, again I'll ask that you plate up another fat cock and choke on it.  At any given time the officer to inmate ratio is about 1 to 50 or more, you can't be everywhere at once, vigilance is the key to survival in an environment filled with felons.


Schools need more money huh? Why's that? So some fukkbag administrator can make another 25K a year while a new to the system teacher is lucky to make 30K and have to deal with 30+ students? Yeah, that's the ticket.


We never signed anything saying we won't sue if we get attacked at work, it's part of the job.  He'll be compensated for his lost time, his injuries and any future earnings he'll miss.  If he sues, chances are he would lose.


Until you walk a Level 4 yard with 500+ felons milling about while it's you and maybe 10 or 12 ground cops and a tower gunner, STFU.

While I have never walked a level 4 yard, I have been on 1-3.  The difference in levels of security is overwhelming.  I felt like a naked women in a football stadium in the lower 2, but level 3 is more like a wounded impala with 1000 hungry loins circling.  I pray I don't get transferred up the hill to High Desert State Prison.  I am the disability pay specialist for CCC and dont currently have any EIDL (inmate attack) cases thank God, but they need to employ 2 disability pay specialists at the level 4 High Desert.  I hear horror stories from there.  My friend who has worked for State prisons for over 20 years told me it is 95% a normal job, but 5% shear terror.    It's been said on here many times, you can't put a price on a life.  I'll take stupid over dead any day.  If they want to cut money from CDCR get the Fed's the F*ck out of our health care budget and let death row inmates die of cancer and the Meth Heads leave without new dentures :mad:  There are inmates where I work that get bi-weekly rides the 90 miles to Reno and back for a 15min "treatment"  That takes if I'm not mistaken at least 4 guards and 2 vehicles :screwy:  I say if they couldnt afford the medical treatment before they came into the system lthey don't deserve it after they do something bad enough to become a felon.  Maybe next time they'll run faster ;)
