Anyone here into this? I go to all the baja races I can... here are a few pics from last years event. This year well, next week I will go equipped with a MUCH better camera so hopefully there will be better pics.
This is from Coco's corner This guy lives in the middle of the Baja Desert Year round with a bad leg. And has done so for MANY years.
Notice I go representing boat racing

i went with some people who pitted for checker one year....it was like '97 i think...we were on the northbound stretch just north of san tomas...there is a paved road that is about a mile or 2 long outside of that town with a slight left turn in it....then goes into switchbacks up a hill. we were at that slight turn.
first truck through was kirk leduke (sp?) doin well over 120mph at 1am...and he was the ONLY truck to go stright up that hill without using the switchbacks.....it was something no ones eyes could believe and it is something i will remember the rest of my life....
amazing time i had and would love to go again.

Open invitation... leaving EARLY Monday morning and returning Wednesday evening this year. We will be watching the race from a spot that a Ford Fiesta could easily make it to. I know some of the guys from the club are going further South to pit a friend, but this year we will be stopping at a place this is just off a graded dirt road. Mile marker 65. In El Alamo.
Of course we will be doing some "exploring" in the 4x4 trucks Monday afternoon, but all are welcome. The beer will not run out

I used to be like that. Then my wife had a problem with her visa and it took me 2 years living in Mexico and commuting to realize that it's really not that different. It just depends on what part of town you are in (as far as Tijuana goes) The other parts of Baja and Chihuahua that I have visited have all been excellent with friendly locals.
